Daniel 12: Those Who Stand - Tim Horman
49m | Sep 13, 2026What if the exile never really ended? Daniel's people went home from Babylon, but Daniel 12 suggests a different kind of exile was only just beginning, and that we are still living in it.
In the final message of our Resisting Babylon series, Tim Horman takes us to the last chapter of Daniel and asks what it means to be among "those who are wise" while living in the middle of Babylon. Babylon, he argues, is not a place but a power. It rarely comes at you directly. It comes through the culture: social pressure first, then legal and political pressure, and eventually something far worse. Daniel saw it coming and stayed awake.
The warning is that the church is asleep. The hope is that Christ will return, the dead will be raised, and everything will be made new. Between now and then, we are called to keep our eyes open, refuse to call any person our enemy, and decide, like Daniel, that Babylon will not come to live in us.
