This month, we reached out to our good friend and longtime Guatemalan export partner Eduardo Ambrocio, the founder and director of Prisma Coffee Origins. Eduardo is one of the most experienced coffee professionals we know, having spent two decades as part of national coffee body Anacafé&#39;s QC team, where he developed strong relationships with people who have since become some of Guatemala&#39;s most celebrated producers and cooperatives.⁠⁠Because we did our Guatemalan sourcing at arm&#39;s length this year, we thought he&#39;d be the best person to chat to for a general overview of the country&#39;s most recent harvest. This month, Fleur and Rafa spoke to Santa Clara Estate’s Bel Zelaya, who spearheads the family’s scholarship program with sister Katia. Since 2011, the initiative has supported 77 children of the farm’s staff in accessing greater educational opportunities, prioritising girls and young women who would otherwise miss out on going to school.During our chat, we learned more about how the program works and how to get involved — while Fleur also gave us insights into what we can expect from our forthcoming Guatemalan offerings.
