Julia Overeem is someone who is always surrounded by music, and whilst Julia is at school, she has used every opportunity to learn to perform. When she was younger, Julia had a passion to learn about the dramatic arts, but during high school, she changed course to learn more about music and all the skills it involves. Which brought her back into the musical passion that has had great importance for her family over time.

In this episode of Life Bursts with Sarah and Matt, Julia Overeem tells about all the fun and difficulties of becoming a musical performer.

Who is Julia Overeem? Well here is how she describes herself:

"I am Julia Overeem, passionate jazz and pop-influenced vocalist, pianist and guitarist. Born in 2005 in Adelaide, South Australia, I travelled to many places over the world including Germany, France, Netherlands and several countries in Asia with my parents. My singing career began at the mere age of 3 after seeing my dad perform in several restaurants and public venues. I am a student in high school and partake in an extracurricular choir called Gospo Collective, performing at the Adelaide Fringe and other performances all over Adelaide throughout the year."

How does a lawyer use their skills to be a peacemaker and resolve conflicts? 😮

Angela Niejalke is a multi-skilled person, a lawyer, a school chaplain and a mediator. Using her multifaceted skills, she is a trainer at an organisation called PeaceWise, which has the goal of training people with conflict resolution from a Christian perspective.

Her life experience has also contributed significantly to the reasons for her line of work today. Since childhood, Angela has lived with Juvenile Arthritis, a condition that requires a lot of patience to explain to those who don't understand the complexities disease. Challenges that have many similarities in understanding conflict and the pain that it causes.

Mrs Christine Goodfellow OAM had a humble beginning to her life, most of her younger years were spent in and around public and military housing communities. An experience that has positively and profoundly had a major influence upon her later years of life. Where she used her experience of living in public housing communities and escaping a violent relationship to help unemployed people find work, and to help the causes of partners of military veterans.

Daniel Wayman is a Salvation Army Officer stationed in Mount Barker South Australia, but he did not start there. Daniel's roots are in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia, where he started life as a typical Queensland boy who was interested in many of the activities that young people take part in Queensland, like cricket, tennis, rugby league, etc.

But many events in Daniel's life made him realise that he had a passion to contribute to helping people live their fullest lives. In his episode of "Life Bursts with Matt and Sarah", Daniel tells us about the joys and trauma that lead him to the life he leads today.

Fay Carruthers has an attitude to life that many would agree with. "Can, so, do" has been the mindset she has approached her life with and encourages others to view life the same way.

Fay has been a meat packer, studied the arts of butchery and cheese making, and operated a major flower supplier in the greater Adelaide region. Now one of her life's passions is fishing and encouraging many, particularly women into the sport with a television show shot with her friends called "Team Justagirl".
