• No, Joe Biden, Please Don't Run in 2024

Despite what Joe Biden thinks, us democrats do NOT want him to run in 2024. The misquoted and misleading statistic that Joe Biden quoted on the way to his second nap of the day has made headlines. I want to take a look at that quote, and more broadly, his presidency at a whole to show how horribly ineffective and regressive "Radical Socialist" Joe Biden has been. I want to show how the 2022 midterms is a direct result of his complete loserdom. I voted for him and like other young democrats, I want to see someone progressive run. But sure Joe, nothing gets me more excited to vote than an 81 year old man stumbling through speeches.

  • Lindsey Graham Subpeonad and Maxwell Alejandro Frost

Lindsey Graham is unfortunately in the news again. Yesterday, he was subpoenaed by Georgia’s Attorney General Fani Willis in regards to a couple of phone calls Lindsey Graham made in the November 2020 election. Now, in 2022, those phone calls might come back to haunt him. Probably not as he’s a Republican, but we can hope. This morning, Lindsey Graham’s lawyers released a statement staying that he would not be complying with the subpoena and would be fighting it in court. They state that Senator Graham was doing his job and that the constitution protects him. Sure you were, Lindsey.

Maxwell Alejandro Frost is running for Florida’s 10th district - a race which he is expecting to win in the 2022 midterms. Why is that a big deal? Frost is slated to become the first Gen Zer in Congress! Running for things like Medicare for all, 2nd amendment policies, pandemic preparedness, climate crisis, criminal justice reform, housing affordability, and transportation reform. Frost’s expected win will hopefully push progressive politics and represent the first of Gen Z well in congress as the rest of us come of age.

  • The Shively Show: Ron DeSantis' Thought Police, Moore v. Harper, and Supreme Court

Ron DeSantis, in another posturing move in his eventual bid for the 2024 presidential republican primary.. On the 23rd. DeSantos signed into law bill 233, which is just basically a bill that is thought police for public universities and colleges. DeSantis says that public institutions are “indoctrinating” people into being liberal. Maybe it’s because when people break out of their tiny bubbles, they realize that their political ideology doesn’t stand up to what society is actually like.

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear Moore vs. Harper, which is the closest threat to democracy since January 6th. Depending on which way this case goes - which we predict will be the wrong way - state legislatures can draw and enact whatever laws they want in regards to both federal and local elections. Justices Neil Gorsuch, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Brett Kavanaugh have ruled in favor of state legislatures as recently as 2019, while Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, John Roberts, and now Kentaji Brown are against the notion. This leaves Amy Coney Barrett, whom pretty much everyone expects her to side with the state legislatures.

  • Nancy Pelosi lying again, Elon Pretends to care, Roe v. Wade and Trans Rights, and Another Overturned Election

Nancy Pelosi signals that Democrats are working on codifying Roe v. Wade and other important SCOTUS rulings to protect the rights of Americans. However, even if Pelosi could get the votes, it won’t pass in the senate, as you’d need 60 votes to pass the filibuster, which the Republicans will obviously use to prevent women having control of their bodies, because as we all know, if women have control over their bodies again the world will end.

Because of the ineptitude of Democrats, Alabama’s Attorney General is using the ruling overturning Roe v. Wade to appeal a bill that was blocked in April of this year to let the state ban transgender health care. Alabama’s blatant disregard of human life and liberty piggybacks off of the inability, or rather disregard, of the Democrats not acting between the ruling of Roe v. Wade 50 or so years ago up until last week. Now that Roe has been overturned, Republicans are attempting to apply it to EVERYTHING in order to strip you of your rights while they fatten their pockets.

Tesla, like other companies (Starbucks, Tesla, Yelp, Airbnb, Microsoft, Netflix, Patagonia, DoorDash, JPMorgan Chase, Levi Strauss, PayPal, Amazon and Reddit), will pay for travel costs for its employees to travel to places if they need abortion. This is just another pandering tactic, as we all know Elon Musk is a hardcore Republican, he doesnt really care about his employees. He moved Tesla HQ to Texas for crying out loud! He says it was because of California’s taxes. While that might be true (Texas is a very business friendly state), he has made no secret as to where he lies politically. Texas lawmakers are even giving companies an out, saying that if companies help with abortion they will be penalized and will not be able to write it off of their taxes. Instead of all of this extra political theater, stop meddling in the lives of others when it has no effect on you!

Lastly, a city council race may have national implications. In Greenville, South Carolina, a close Republican primary may be overturned due to claims of voter irregularity. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that Republicans have been inspired by President Trump’s near coup attempt. Maybe they think if they try it on a small scale, it may succeed. No matter, if this is overturned, it could have huge ramifications on not only South Carolina, but the midterms and 2024 election cycle. A hearing is expected before July 2nd, so this may be a story I revisit.

  • The BOMBSHELL January 6th Hearing

In this episode, we talk about the June 28th, 2022 unannounced January 6th hearing. Today, we got an amazing testimony from a former top aide to former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. She spent a lot of time in President Trump’s company and, because she previously worked for Steve Scalise, she knew a lot of Republican legislators as well. Her testimony also implicated Rudy Guliani(more than he already was), Mark Meadows, Roger Stone, and Michael Flynn among others. The evidence in this hearing was incredible and gives us an insight into not only Donald Trump’s state of mind, but the state of mind of the people around him. Tampering, incitement, and riots, oh my!
