Today, I have a bit of a story, a realization, and a reminder to share with you. And if you’ve been following along on my journey and you’re listening to this at the time that I post it, at the current time:

I was in a really big art competition. There were a thousand submissions, and a hundred of us were accepted. And then there were four really big cash prizes, and I wanted to win one. I wanted to win one, and I did a lot of work to try to win one.

And I didn’t win one. I did get in the top 10, but I didn’t win, and my inner child self had a lot of feelings about that. A lot of those feelings revolved around the perception of not being enough and the perception of always ending up back in this place of trying really hard and then not quite making the mark.

It had me in a bit of a discombobulation for about a week and a half, which is a really long time for me right now, because I’m generally able to move through things within a couple of days or less.

What I found myself saying during that week and a half was, “I’m not quite myself” or “I’m feeling really strange, and I’m not really sure what to do. I don’t really feel like this very often.”

When I came through to the other side — and I did that by feeling my feelings, letting myself feel the disappointment of really giving something my best shot and just not quite meeting the mark — I thought, “Top 10 is amazing, but it’s not top four, right?”

But I got a really cute little trophy, and I got to be a person who walked across the stage at an art competition. Those are really big things.

When I came through the week and a half and settled back in, I then found myself saying, “I remembered who I am,” and “I got back to myself, and everything is great again.”

What I want to remind us today — and what I want to caution us against, and remind myself as well — is that that week-and-a-half self who was a little bit confused and disoriented and disappointed and sad and struggling is equally as important and beautiful and valuable and good as the version of me leaving this podcast message to you now.

In fact, during that week and a half, I spent so much time thinking about the fact that I was struggling, or I didn’t quite know how to get back on track, that I imagine it kept me off track for longer.

And we can go even further and say, well, what even is “the track”? Because if I’m a human person having a human experience and I was just part of this art competition that I gave so much time and attention to and asked so many people for help and did so much promoting and so much time giving of myself, and then for it to be over — of course I’m going to have feelings, however it ended.

And why does that then mean that I’m “off track” or “not quite myself”? Because in fact, I am so much myself that the self that I am at that time is discouraged and disappointed. And she’s so beautiful. That self is wonderful, and that self is having an equally important and valuable human experience as the self who goes for a hike and gets to experience the miracle of nature and trees and the dew on the grass. Those two parts are equal.

If I find myself in that place of confusion or discombobulation or disappointment, and then I’m putting myself down because I’m there, or I’m saying to other people that I’m “not quite myself,” then I’m really reiterating the disconnection between that version of me and the version that I maybe prefer to embody.

When I realized this, it was quite humbling, because I realized that I didn’t take the opportunity to extend as much love as I could have to myself after that competition and in the week that followed. I felt so tired and I felt so drained, and I felt like, “Here I am again, at the end of my rope, and this is how life is always going to be.”

Of course, that is not true. But I didn’t take the time to just love myself in that feeling — to not make it bad, to not say anything about it, just to let it be. Let that feeling have some attention and care and love, and to feel it. To feel the shame of that type of emotion and the really deep pit in the stomach and the tightness in the chest and all the physical sensations that come along with that type of emotion.

And I’m sure you’ve felt it too. Maybe you can remember how visceral it is, how much it really must be seen and felt in order to get to the other side.

And it’s all okay. Every single experience that we get to have as a human is part of being human. However we believe that we came to be human here on Earth, we’re human here on Earth. There’s no way around that. You are a human person listening to me — unless you’re a weird robot training yourself on my voice — but anyway, you’re a human person listening to me. I’m a human person speaking into this device, and the speakers are going into your ears.

We’re human people. So can’t we remember that? Can’t we allow the whole spectrum of feelings to be felt and to be okay? That’s what I want to remember.

And then maybe next time, when I’m having a week and a half of strange feelings, I’ll be able to really allow love and care and devotion to sink into my bones. And you know what? It might not make the process any faster. Maybe I feel kind of funny for two weeks. But at least I feel kind of funny and I’m giving and receiving love. And that’s the magic.

So I just want to remind you today that you can do that too — that whatever you’re feeling, maybe something that might feel sticky that you’ve been holding for a little bit — there’s nothing wrong. There’s nothing wrong at all. You’re so worthy of this human experience and of getting to have the human experience that you desire to have.

It’s really deep and magical and abundant to accept all the experiences that we have.

Thank you for listening. And thank you for contemplating and exploring these types of ideas with me. I hope your day is very blessed.

I love you, and I’m proud of you.

Today I feel tender, and I thought, what an interesting time to hit record. Life is so beautiful—and part of life is life ending. I’m in the middle of a lot of brushes with mortality.

I don’t have a lot of direct experience with death, but I’ve held many people through these kinds of journeys—either their own or their loved ones’. Something we forget is that we are only alive right now, in this present moment. Right now, as you listen to my voice, you’re alive. And that is literally the only moment you know you have.

And goddamn, do we squander that. Even now. Even now, I really love you listening to this, but is this the highest, best thing for you to do right now? Or are you putting on my voice to avoid something else? Are you listening to me while your child is asking you to play? Or while you’re doing a billion other things, multitasking out the wazoo?

Right now, as my voice is going in your ears, is this the thing you most want to do?

And if it’s not—and I almost hope it’s not, because there’s so much more to your life than listening to me—I might just be a stranger on the internet. I might be a person you’ve met; I have a lot of friends who listen here. But I might literally be a stranger on the internet, pulling you away from something else in your life.

And if I can just give you one little nudge to go to that other thing—if there was something that popped in your head when I first said “is this the highest, best?”—whatever popped into your head, I grant you, with the magical fairy-wand glitter power of my voice through my recorder into your ears, the absolute permission to just stop listening to me and go to that thing.

Because the time you have to be alive is now. You actually might not have one hour from now. But you have right now. And wow, what a beautiful, infinite gift—just right now.

And maybe right now the highest, best thing for you is to go put your feet naked on the earth. Maybe it’s to call that friend you haven’t talked to in a long time. Maybe it’s to close your eyes and rest. Maybe it’s just to stop everything. Just stop everything and listen. Maybe you continue listening to me, or maybe you embrace silence for a moment.

Because I don’t think there’s a single person on Earth who would agree that we are here to scroll a screen—even though I’m sure you’re listening to me through a screen of some type. But we’re human beings. We don’t live inside a box, or inside bits and chips and coding and screens and lights and “fast.”

We live in those barefoot outdoor moments, in the in-betweens, in the hugs and the embraces and the eye contact. In the connection, the desire, and the loss. That is being human.

And right now—this moment—is it. And it’s so special and beautiful because being human means being mortal. It means dying. It means sometimes losing over and over again. All the beauty we get to experience also includes the beauty of loss. And the searing pain of grief is oh so beautiful, because all of it is human.

Maybe you’re some interesting robot trying to learn about humanity listening to me—but I highly doubt that. You’re another human person, just like me, wanting to feel connected, seen, and safe.

And the way we do that—the way we feel seen and connected and whole—is to actually remember that we’re alive right now, literally right now. How can we be living into being the most alive?

The most alive doesn’t mean going on the biggest explorations. It means simply looking around where you are right now and being fully here. Fully here. Fully sitting beside your child on the couch at the end of the day. Fully. Because you’re alive.

Fully sitting down and resting because you’re alive. Not bringing anything else in because the world has told you you can’t stop. Being connected, being seen, and being whole is fed by noticing that right now you’re here. Alive. Breathing. Maybe feeling great, maybe feeling horrible—but you’re here. And that’s it. That’s literally it. And that’s so beautiful.

I’m so glad you’re here. Thanks for spending a human moment with me.

If you feel like you want to share a story back with me today, I would love to hear it. Maybe my words touched you. Maybe something came to mind. Maybe you left and then came back and listened to the rest of this. You can reach me anytime at hello@alexiswild.com, or you can pop onto any of my social medias.

It’s always a really special honor and treat to sit and record these words for you, and I don’t take it lightly that you just spent 10 minutes with me.

If I can close with just a little reminder: the way my words help you to feel is also something you can do for other people, too. I’m not a special, different type of person. I’m just like you.

And I’ve learned to be here now, in all the things. I’ve built capacity to hold what those things are, for the most part. And I’m continuously shifting and moving through my CPTSD and the things that I still notice every once in a while. I live in my body. But I’m not on top of a pedestal, a higher-developed human. I’m just like you.

And the gifts you see in me—I think you have them, too. And I can’t wait to see how you use them.

    I love you. Thank you.

Alright—today's episode is going to be a little bit different. Hopefully you can hear the sound of the waves in the background. I'm at the lake, and I thought I’d take advantage of this beautiful time and space to leave you a bit of a love note—a little bit of a love note.

What I want to share with you is something I really believe to be true. If you’re able, take a moment to do nothing else. Maybe just sit on the couch. For this little bit of time, I invite you to receive the words I’m going to say and, if you can, let them settle into your body—let them sink into your bones.

If you can find a spot—of course, if you’re listening and doing other things, that’s okay too—but if you can find a spot just to be for this moment, that would be great. You don’t have to sit in any special position; just find a place that feels okay to be alone with me for a moment. And as I share these things with you, let them sink into your body. Really feel them, even if they feel uncomfortable or untrue. Can you be curious about letting these ideas in?

    Okay.

Dearest, you are infinitely loved. Infinitely protected. Infinitely worthy—oh my goodness, infinitely worthy. There is no end to what you could receive, what you’re allowed to receive, and what is here for you in this moment of time.

You are infinitely enough—completely and wholly. This is true. You are infinitely enough, yes, even with the sadness and the hate and the fear and the shame and the doubt you still hold. You’re infinitely enough. Infinitely worthy. Infinitely loved.

And all those parts of you that you feel aren’t good enough are also infinitely loved. Are you able, in this moment, to allow yourself to receive that? That even the parts of you you turn away from are also worthy of love.

Even though I don’t know you, I see that the parts of you you think aren’t good enough are worthy of my love. And what’s really magical is they’re also worthy of your love. The parts of you you feel are not good enough are worthy of your love.

A simple thing you can do today to show those parts of you a bit of love is simply to look at them. Simply to look at them. To acknowledge that you have parts of yourself you might not feel are good enough.

What’s interesting is that acknowledging these parts of us actually helps us feel more whole because we stop ignoring and pushing aside parts of ourselves. Sometimes we’d like to just eliminate the part of us that hates another human. But can I invite you to allow that part of you to exist? Because when you allow it to exist, it loses the control and power it was trying to get—just like a little child who doesn’t get the attention they’re looking for becomes louder. When you’re able to look at it, it doesn’t need to scream anymore.

All the parts of you you don’t want to know are there—every single one—is infinitely worthy of love and care. That doesn’t mean we let them run the show, but it means we stop denying their existence. Because to feel whole, you have to embrace that we’re both light and dark, both “bad” (I’m putting that in air quotes) and good.

There’s no need to judge the parts of you you don’t want to look at. They’re simply there as parts of you. And what I know about you is that you are absolutely beautiful—even those parts. Gosh, maybe especially those parts.

You’re so worthy. You’re so enough. Everything that’s happened up until now has made you part of who you are. All of it is part of you.

And my goodness, what an amazing adventure. How beautiful to get to experience sadness, devastating grief, overwhelming anger—because all of that means you’re alive. And how gorgeous to experience delight that makes you cry, and love, and gratitude. All of it making this human experience your experience. And what a gorgeous one it is.

You are infinitely worthy. You are infinitely loved. There is no end. All the parts of you are allowed to be here too, and to receive that love and care.

Thank you for taking a moment to consider embracing yourself a little bit deeper today, to listen to the waves, and to listen to my voice. I love you. You’re enough. And I’m so proud of you. Thank you.

In this episode of Wild Permission, Alexis shares her method for turning inspired ideas into reality. Oh, welcome back! I just feel so grateful and honored to get to be a voice in your ear every week—or, if you're binging on me, maybe you're listening to everything all at once. Today, I wanted to pop on and share with you something that I have found to be really helpful for me.

I do a lot of projects. I do a lot of things. And I tend to try to do them quickly: get the idea, implement the idea. The reason for that is because when I feel really inspired, that's when I feel the energy of this project really vibrant and alive. And I don't know about you, but when there is something vibrant and alive in me—an idea, a project—the quicker I implement it, the more I am able to sustain that excited energy.

We certainly don’t have to be in a heightened energy state to make things happen. But I noticed that for me, if I'm able to stay in motion with the project, it tends to feel better as I implement it.

If an idea comes to me and I think to myself, "Oh, I'll get around to that someday," or "Maybe that's a project for a few months from now," it's likely that project will never come to fruition. However, if an idea comes to me and I'm able to quickly turn it around, it feels vibrant in my body instantly. An idea comes, and you're like, "Oh my gosh, I love that so much." And we keep that energy and vibrancy alive—then other people feel that from me.

The way I’m able to keep that vibrancy and energy alive is I try to create a deadline or a birth date for this idea—just like when a baby is going to be born, there’s a due date. We have a bit of an idea of when we're going to meet this person, when the baby is going to be born.

When I can create that deadline, and it’s a really hard deadline—like if I can be on somebody's podcast and say, "I have this thing coming out and here's the date"—if I'm able to coordinate that with somebody else and really make it a public declaration of, "Here's when this thing is going to come to fruition," it helps me stay on track.

For instance, when I was in the art comp in London at Kellogg Lane, I knew there was a deadline for when the art needed to be completed and submitted. I told people I was submitting art to this show. I told myself. I stayed in that energy of excitement so I could complete it for that deadline. I submitted it, and then I was accepted.

And now there's a new deadline: the art needs to be delivered by the state. Then there’s a new deadline: voting for the contest ends September 7th. Staying in that excited energy gets me to each next point.

Because I'm able to create deadlines or commitments for myself, I know I have somewhere that I'm moving toward, and I know that I can look at it and say, "Yes, I completed it. This idea was birthed out into the world." And those deadlines—especially when I’m able to share them publicly—really create for me a sense of moving toward something and actually getting there.

I know for myself that I also tend to desire intensity. I desire intensity. And when I pay attention to that and remember, "Hey, you really desire intensity, and sometimes it doesn’t serve you," I’m able to make sure I don’t save the project until right before the deadline. That’s procrastinating, right?

But everything we do has a reason. So if I know I crave intensity in my system, and that's something I thrived on in the past but don’t want to be like that now, then I’m able to stay in the energy of creation in a sustainable way and know that craving is there—but I don’t need to let it take over.

I want to stay in the energy of the excitement of creation, the pregnancy stage, and have a deadline, the due date, and stay in that feeling of creating something, birthing something, and being excited about it. While I’m doing all that, I want to notice in myself where I’m inclined to seek intensity. Procrastinating certainly gives us intensity, right? Now we’re two days before the deadline and have to scramble, scramble, scramble.

The magic of looking at your projects as a pregnancy, a gestation period, means we consider nurturing them the same way we would a pregnancy. When we’re pregnant, we are devoted to growing this new human, and so much of our life revolves around this pregnancy. So when I have a project on the go, so much of my life does revolve around the project. It’s on my mind. I’m thinking about it. I allow myself to be devoted to it because I want to stay in the energy of creation, of nurturing, and being devoted to the project, guiding it to the due date, birthing it, and introducing it to everybody around me.

So: quickly act on ideas that feel good. Create a deadline for when you want them to be out in the world. Share that due date with people. Those are the things I do to help me create a lot of beautiful things. I created the Here and Now experience because I shared on Shana Hemstreet's podcast that that was going to be a freebie for listeners. I relaunched this podcast because I shared on her series that I am the host of Wild Permission. Those two deadlines helped me create things again—things that had been in dormancy.

I’d like for you to consider today: is there something on your heart that you’ve been desiring to create? Is it possible to create a due date for it? Maybe “due date” feels better to you than “deadline.”

If you can share your due date with me, I would absolutely love to hear it and celebrate it with you. It doesn’t have to be a big thing. Maybe you simply want to get back on track with making a meal plan for your family and have it in hand by next Friday. Or maybe it’s something bigger—a gorgeous body of work you’ve been meaning to bring to life, and you want to do that by the end of the month. Whatever it is, I imagine it won’t take as much time as you think.

Give it a due date. Devote yourself to nurturing this beautiful idea, whatever it is, and let me know. You can reach out to me at alexiswild.com or on Instagram at @wildpermission. I would be truly honored to cheerlead your beautiful gestation of this thing coming to life.

Thank you for listening. I hope you feel blessed.

All right, my loves. Now it’s up to you. Go. Be who you are—whatever that is, whoever you want to be. I’m so proud of you. Reach out anytime. I love to connect. You can find me at alexiswild.com.

Welcome to Wild Permission. I'm your host, Alexis Wild, and I'm here to remind you that you have permission right now to be exactly who you are. Let's do this.

Hello! You're getting another driving podcast, so there might be a little bit of background noise—and that's how we do it here—because when I have something beautiful to share, I want to hit record and share the beauty with you right when it's ready. And it's ready.

What I feel called to share with you today is to invite you for a few minutes—you know about how long these are, let's say 10 minutes. I want to invite you for 10‑ish minutes to lean into an experiment with me. And maybe you're just going to listen to me for 10 minutes. Or maybe you're also driving. Or maybe you're doing the dishes. Or whatever you do when you pop on a podcast.

I want you just to take a deep breath. Take a breath in whatever way feels so delicious. Like, wow, you are alive. Take a breath that makes you feel alive and reminds you that you are in a beautiful, powerful, holy, wonderful body. You wouldn't even get to be here listening to my voice without this body that you're in. So just take a breath. We're not getting into meditation, but just take a breath that feels good, that feels nourishing. Just take a breath.

And I want you to consider with me for this time: what if where you are right now is actually the perfect spot for you? What if nothing—nothing—has to change? Right now is the perfect spot for you.

Notice what that feels like. Does it feel conflicting in your system? Does it feel spacious in your system? What if nothing has to change? Nothing about your body, nothing about your work, nothing about your household. Nothing.

And what if—holding that nothing has to change—what if everything that you want or desire was here in this moment right now?

And I know we've all heard that everything is energy. So if everything is energy, then isn't it actually possible that everything you want is right here right now? Like, what if—just what if—it's possible that everything you want is right here right now? The thought of that makes me smile.

Everything you want is right here, right now. Everything you want is right here, right now. No, don't look around and say, “Oh, but I don't have any proof.” Everything you want is right here, right now. And in fact, because it is here, is it possible to say then that you don't even need to want it? Because you already have it.

Everything you have is here. Everything you have is here. We're not looking around for proof; we're just taking a moment to imagine, in our systems, in our bodies, that everything we have is here. Everything. We don't need proof. We're just taking a moment to play.

And I don't know about you, but that idea makes me feel kind of tingly and kind of flowy and kind of decadent. And I have a bit of a smile on my face, and it makes me want to growl in the back of my throat. It makes me feel sexy. Everything right now is perfect. And you have everything right now.

And so if you have everything and everything is just right right now in this moment, the question that I want to leave you with—the pondering—is: what if you could live the next hour with this feeling in mind?

What if you could live this next hour—just an hour, we're just practicing; we don't have to go to a week or a day even—what if you could remember what it feels like right now for everything to be just right, for you to have everything? No wanting. There's no wanting anymore. You don't even need to want, because you have it.

So, keeping that feeling in mind for the next hour, would you behave differently? What would be different about your day—the way that you behave, the things that you do, the people you talk to? Just what if?

And that's my question for you. And it feels really decadent for me, and I hope it feels decadent for you too. And if it doesn't, then we're playing the “just right” experiment. So that's perfect too. And you can use it as a bit of a clue of maybe something that you want to investigate. Because you can.

And what we're always doing is trying to remain really curious about who we are—and not just who we are right now, but who we are constantly becoming. And if everything is here right now, then that person is also here. That future you that you feel is a little bit too far away—if everything's just right and you have it, then that's here too. In an instant. In, in, in an instant.

I love you. Thank you for playing a game with me today. And I hope you feel very blessed.

All right, my loves. Now it's up to you. Go be who you are—whatever that is, whoever you want to be. I'm so proud of you. Reach out to me anytime. I love to connect. You can find me at AlexisWild.com.

All right, love. It's another car podcast. They gotta come out when they're ready to come out. The words gotta spill out of me, um? But I would love to know, do you like my car podcast? Do you hate my car podcasts? You know where to reach out to me: Instagram or email, right? Website?

I'm at wildpermission or hello@alexiswild.com for email, and really, you can reach out to me whenever you want, um. I do my best to reply to folks, and if it's not a really quick reply, I promise, I read it, and I will circle back to you because I really appreciate the time, energy, and intention that it takes to reach out, whether that's with a question, a story, or a dream. I love holding—people sharing, like, holding—that is really quite a gift. So, let me know: are our car shares a happy thing or an annoying thing?

What I want to share with you today is a lesson that I think about, and it helps me to make good choices, make better choices. This concept, this way of being for myself, is this: I believe that we will always have the lessons that we need to learn in this lifetime. And if we are behaving in negative ways, if we are doing things that we know are harmful, and we don't change that habit or way of being, then eventually something will happen. And maybe it's quick and setting, or maybe it's long and drawn out, but eventually something will happen that is a consequence of that, or is something happening to finally stop us.

For instance, we all know that we should not use our cell phones while driving. And we can decide to change that habit ourselves, or we can continue to do that. But one way or another, somewhere down the line in your life, something will happen that will force you to stop doing that—or will be big enough that you will finally change.

So for me, let's take the cell phone example. If I am reaching into my purse while driving and wanting to go on my phone, I often do remember this concept: if I do this, now I'm further embedding this shitty habit. And if I don't change this, this change is going to be forced upon me. And that's gonna suck. It's probably really gonna suck. So I can choose to make that change myself—either way, the result is the same: I don't do the thing. But I can stop doing the thing from my own choice, from my own accord, from my own desire to be in right alignment with goodness, with integrity. Or, I can carry on with life, and the lesson will come. The lesson will come whether we want it or not, because the nature of humanity is to grow. And part of growing is to shed the things that are harming us and the things that don't work.

And those include the bad habits, the thoughts that harm us, the actions that harm us, the relationships that harvest. You're not gonna get away with tricking yourself. You know when something is not good for you, and those things will naturally, at some point, shift. Because they have to. If our nature is growth, any type of pattern that keeps us stuck, stagnant, negative, or dying—it can't stick around. Something will happen at some point to get rid of it.

I don't know about you, but I don't generally enjoy when crappy things happen in my life. And of course, they're gonna happen because we're human. But we can choose to change these things ourselves. Thinking about this idea, this concept, has really helped me to not reach for the phone and to really consider: do I want to have this change forced upon me? If I am going to make this choice that I know is a bad choice, eventually something's gonna happen. It's gonna force me to stop doing this. I know it's not good for me. I can stop, and that kind of adjusts my life in a way that that little tiny choice puts me on a path of higher integrity and alignment. Because if I'm saying I want to be a person who makes good choices, is inspiring, and lives a life of high integrity, then any little leak—any little leak—is pretty risky to everything else. If I go on my phone, to text, or all the stuff we do on our phones, if I go on my phone while I'm driving, I could get in an accident. I could swerve and hit something. I could kill a person. I could kill myself. I could kill my children. Like, that is a really high-risk thing to do. And any little bit of out-of-alignment actions affects the whole.

Did something come to mind for you? Little, maybe big, something that you know you need to shift? Can you use this concept to help you realize how much power you actually have, and to help you realize the magnitude of change that you can control? And that's good, right? We often think of control as a really negative word, but we are the ones in charge of our lives. We do get to control those types of things—those bad behaviors, those negative parts of our lives that we know are not helping us. We get to decide to make different choices.

I invite you to consider: can this be a tool that's helpful for you as well? When you get into those little sticky situations and find yourself wanting to go back to that habit, that relationship, or whatever it is that isn't in your highest best good—can you be the one responsibly in control? You don't need to let the universe have to force a lesson upon you. You've got this. I really am so proud of you, and you're making really abundantly beautiful choices. I hope this is something that you can use to continue doing so.

Thank you, and I love you.

    TRANSCRIPT

Hello, oh, I'm so excited to share this idea and concept with you today, and it feels really juicy and Alive. And, um, decadent and abundant when I feel this in my body and? I know for you, I know for you. That there is something. That feeds your soul that you want to bring out into the world.

And I don't know what it is, but I know you have a thing. Maybe it's music. Maybe it's making art like I do. Maybe it's creating something else. Maybe it's being a really great parent, um, maybe it's really putting everything into your work and whatever the thing is? I invite you today to consider what it would be like if you treated that as if it was your lover.

And what type of energy? Is a lover, a lovership relationship. To me when I think of a lover, I think of creation. I think of amplifying, I think of adorning myself in beautiful ways. When I meet them, I think of being my best. I think of exploring, I think of excitement.

I think of looking forward to. So, if we were to treat the things that we want to create and our passions as a lover, then would we not want to spend more time in those things? Would we not consider it more often? Would we not look for ways to honor that in our lives?

Look for ways to create more energy around it. Look for ways to talk about it. Look for ways to really. Allow that feeling of Desire towards our passion to just flow into as many parts of our life as possible. I don't know about you, but when I am leaning into a new relationship or exploring further.

With somebody current and like dipping my toes into more. I think about it a lot, right? We think about these energy growing relationships a lot. And so, then we think of the people when we're out and about of the store. And we see something that they might like, and we pick it up, or we make plans to spend more time with them.

Maybe the time that we're spending is even like, very, very short. Maybe we pop into their work for five minutes? Though we plan our life to be able to engage. With our lover. Right, and even the word lover carries with it. And energy. A creative, expansive feeling when I think about it.

And how this came to me today was I was dropping off my kids and then I was heading to meet a friend and I told them I would come right after I dropped off my kids. I said I'll be to like 9, 15, 9, 30. And then I realized this morning when I got up that I really wanted to do another layer on my painting lead follow.

And. This painting's nearing the end. But every time that I add paint, I have to wait for it to dry before I can add the next layer. If you've seen my art, you know, there's a lot happening. A lot of colors, a lot of energy. And so, what I decided to do was to drop off my kids a few minutes, early three minutes early, just a few.

And I had hopped back in the van and drove back home so that I could spend 10 minutes on the canvas before I left again. And I. My kid's driveway at 905. I ran home. I added some white, beautiful netting type patterns to the painting, and I got back in my car.

I got a 917, and I made it to see my friend before 9, 30. And I could look at this and be, like, oh my God, that was so frantic. Like, you did all this running around this morning. I spent 10 minutes with my lover this morning in my backyard.

I fit my passion. I fit my love into a spot this morning that I created so I could be in that energy. With this. And as I, if I think about this creation that I am making this lead, follow painting. It really is a lovership relationship. Because I have to put intention in intentional time energy, I have to be thinking about it a lot.

What does this painting want? How can I serve it? How can I create more here? And it feels really alive to consider this painting and my body of work and myself as an artist. As a relationship that is not. Not even a friendship, but is a lover? Because a lover is an energy that grows in a different type of way, right?

It's kind of sexy. It's kind of. More, and I'm certainly not saying friendships are not valuable or parenting relationships are not valuable. But if we think of the word lover, there's something a little bit more electric there. Then the word mother or friend? And the type of aliveness that I desire to have with my work with my passion.

Is that of lover because I want to keep the energy alive I want to stay in the flow of excitement? An aliveness. And so, as you consider the thing that I referenced at the beginning, what your passion is the thing you want to create, just want to invite you to lean into?

What would it feel like to treat that as a lover? Would you maybe want to sneak more minutes in with that? You wouldn't even believe how much I did in 10 minutes, and it felt so good. You definitely have 10 minutes. You have 10 minutes to write a bit more of your story.

You have 10 minutes to sit down and make some music. And it can fit in between the other parts of your life. You don't have to pretend it's a sneaky Affair. It can be a lover that you shout your love from the rooftops. It can be the best love affair that you have ever had, but not in secret.

Because if something lights you up this much, you can't even keep it a secret anyways. That's why I had to pop on this morning and talk to you about this. Because I couldn't keep this alive energy a secret. Because I know that you can feel this too. And maybe you decide not to use the word lover, then maybe there's something else that can really?

Give you the feeling of. Devotion and excitement and aliveness for the things that you're meant to create. Because whatever they are. I want to see them in the world. And I want you to be them in the world. Because the things that you're meant to create are there for you.

And if you don't make them, we don't get to experience them. But I really want to experience your work in the world, whatever it is. Please, please, if you feel John. Shoot me a quick message on one of my platforms, wild permission, or Alexis Christine Wilde, and let me know what that little passion is.

Give your love a name so I can celebrate it too. Thank you so much for popping on and listening to me today. I hope that you're able to feel alive and connected. I love you. And you're so worthy.

    TRANSCRIPT

All right. Welcome back! Maybe welcome for the first time. If you have seen or heard episodes before this one, you'll maybe have noticed that many of them were from several years ago and. I'm back and it feels good. And. To claim. A title in our lives is so. Powerful and the title I claim is artist, and that includes speaking to you here, and it definitely includes making the gorgeous devotional work I create and includes inviting you to witness me in the.

Opening and doing the receiving and in? One thing at a time. One thing at a time steps. And it includes being imperfect. It includes leaving that mistake in this recording that I just made and. It also includes looking at. Where I have gone off track and the last episode before.

This one was in 2022. Almost three years ago from now. And. Yesterday, I was collating. For an artist's resume, all of the exhibits I've been part of, and all the different projects. And there is a many, many year Gap. From about 2019. To 2023. And. What I think about that?

It feels like man, why, why, why? And I can feel. A bit of Shame. A bit of guilt. And my body feels a little heavy in my shoulder, as it feels like. Some grief, some sadness for? That many years of? Not being in Devotion to? Artist to being creative to being.

Witnessed by you in this. Not everybody wants to be. As public as I. But for me to have gone so many years. Without this type of sharing. I feel. Intrigued and curious and really alive. To notice where I got off track and to? Put those 21 podcast episodes back up.

Finally, build an online shop where people can pay me for things I make. And to hit record again and to be. A human person in life, striving for things because I know with absolute certainty that they're mine. And. What's cool about being on a track? Is the track will stay there for us?

The track will stay there. And so, if we run off of track? Maybe we were distracted by something else that seems beautiful? Maybe we have to do some caretaking? Whatever gets us off the track. This track will always be there. My desire to deeply sink into? The role of artists as title in my life has always been there.

If you would have asked me seven years ago, what do you want to master in your life? I would have said being an artist. And. I can look back. And look at all the different things that pulled me off the track. Gosh, so many things. So many things. Starting different companies.

Writing different events that had nothing to do with my mission. And. When I look at those many years of of being off track? I can see that. There was still a bit of a weaving in there. A bit of a whispering of, hey, this thing, still important. But other things became so much bigger.

It was really, really. Interesting is when I look at that Gap. That Gap directly correlates to the most difficult times of my life. Times when I was calling suicide helplines times when I? Couldn't parent. Well, times when I was so disconnected times where I was losing friends. Times where?

I didn't even want to be here. And it's interesting to look at that. And to just wonder just to just to ponder. If I wouldn't have gone off the track? Would that have happened? Or is it because I was off the track? And allows all of those things to happen.

That are able to feel so much strength in my conviction to stay devoted now. Because I've gotten to experience how painful it is to be off the track. The. Might not be easy. It might be incredibly challenging. The, when it's the race that we are meant to run when it is our deep passion when it is our purpose.

The track will always feel better. They're running through some random field. Always. And. As I share with you more of my. Heart and my lessons and my offerings again and. Lean into vulnerability and lean into asking and leaning to showing. I'm excited to. Hit record again and be in your ear every week and listen to your stories back.

It was. Such a gift and such a surprise. In my first round of this podcast that people anticipated this every week. And. I think. The magic. A human voice. Is that we are able to connect story to story? I can share with you. Hey, this was painful. And now, it's not.

This was a challenge, and I got through it. And then, I think. When you hit those challenges too. It doesn't feel so alone. And then you get to have your own experience of. Oh, this was painful, and now it's not. And that's really magical. And so thank you for listening to this.

Rebirth relaunch. This commitment to utter devotion. To Artistry and? The claiming of the title of artist in my life includes. This filed permission. This podcast this. Opening. And it includes. Being in my permission. So, you feel more inspired bit by bit to stay in yours. And that's what it's about.

Wild permission. And we've always had it, but I feel really honored to get to remind you. It's good to remind you that you've always had it. To thank you. Even in the times when we're off track. We can get back, and thanks for being here. I hope you feel blessed.

I want to ask you a question today give you something to ponder as you go through your day today as you interact with other people as you have feelings and experiences and memories and everything that comes with being human. And the question I want you to consider as you go through life is is this really true? Is this really true? Is this person doing this to me on purpose to hurt me? Is this true? Did this driver cut me off in traffic? Because he's rude and ignorant? Is this true? Or maybe he didn't see me? Is this true? We get so caught up in our perception of things. So caught up in it, and so tied to it and hold so tightly to it to the point of sometimes letting it ruin our lives…

... . Then certainly it can start small with resentment with miscommunication. And really, that's all it is. When things happen in our lives that don't feel correct in our opinion. We can very quickly go down a rabbit hole of this person is doing this to me and this is what it means. It means they're rude. It means they don't like me. It means they want to hurt me. It means they don't care. About me. It means this is so unfair. But is that really true? Could it be perhaps that this other person who you're interacting with is super tired? Maybe they're struggling? Maybe they are dealing with mental health issues right now? And they're having a hard time and maybe they didn't realize that you're also kind of tired. So what they said on a normal day might just be something easy for you to fluff off.

That maybe today It really hurts. But here's the question again. Is it true? Is it true that they're evil and they're out to get you?

Is it true? Is it true the perception that you have of this experience? Because if it's not true, then Gosh, you're certainly wasting a lot of time on this and you're letting it mean things that it probably doesn't mean in our relationships, in our relationships with our partners with our kids with ourselves, there are infinite opportunities to misunderstand and so often, we hold on to these really hurtful and really harmful viewpoints of what has actually happened.

I'm not saying that what has happened to you is not the experience that you are actually having I'm not saying that this is not how you're feeling and how you've perceived it. But I want to ask you, is this a perception that is serving you if your perception of your partner waking up grumpy is that they hate you. They don't want to be with you. They're so grouchy all the time, and this is horrible. But they're just tired and they're a little grumpy today. If your perception of that tired and grumpy is now going to ruin your entire day. Is that a viewpoint that you want to hold? One it's not even a viewpoint. That's true. And you know that they're just having a hard time for a moment that it's not about you and you don't need to take it personally. So is it true? And if I believe that this is true, whether it is or not, maybe it is maybe it's not. But I mean, honestly it's probably not and you know that and I know that but let's just say on the slim chance that it is true. We can still decide to not allow that viewpoint, whether it's true or not to impact us in such a way. And this sounds like letting people off with bad behavior. And it sounds like just fluffing things off and ignoring things. And certainly, I'm sure it can be. But I just want to just lean into the idea of being in control only of our own selves and our own space and our own feelings and our own perceptions of the world.

Because our perception of the world is what creates our world. So when your partner wakes up grumpy and they're kind of rude, you can take that to mean that your life is horrible. Or you can walk away and make it me nothing. And it's not true. And now your perception of the world is still one in which you are sovereign and you're a hole and you are enough and you're just moving through the world without all that extra baggage that you could have picked up in that moment. Because it's not true. Your partner doesn't want to ruin your life. They've just not had a good sleep. They want to care for you. They love you. And you can decide what perception you want to take. Then you can carry that with you. And when it comes to times that you might need to set a boundary. You can set a boundary and still allow for the truth that you want in your life. To be the truth that guides you. So you can set that boundary of hey, when you're feeling a little grumpy in the morning, I'm going to need some space and here's what I'm going to do for myself in those moments. That I'm going to choose that the reality that I want to live is one in which it feels good in the morning, to be up and to be alive. And we can choose and we can choose what is true for us in every moment. And something really interesting happens when we make that choice. When we make the choice to not read into anything we allow what we really want to actually happen. Because if I read into my partner's grouchiness, as this is the worst thing ever, he hates me, he doesn't want to be here, etc, etc. Well, then he gets that vibe off of me. And now he becomes even more grouchy

instead of me, giving him what I want, which is ease and joy and magic in my mornings. Because what we create for ourselves, comes back to us. And I know that you've had opportunities to see this in your own life as well of what you put out, comes back to you. And when we come from a place of knowing who we are, loving who we are, and choosing ourselves, instead of all these weird perceptions that we take on choosing ourselves it means that all that other stuff. One doesn't become so potent and two doesn't faze us, and three, doesn't mean anything. We remember that it doesn't mean anything. So what they're a little grumpy. You're not carry on. Is it true?

All of these perceptions and ideas and feelings that you have about other people and about life and about unfairness. Are they even true? And are they serving your highest best, best best best self? Because I know some of my perceptions certainly are not and then realizing that that's the first step to choosing the other side. Realizing that what you're holding on to what you're believing right now to be true is harming you. Well, that's the first step to changing it. And I know you can do that. So let's do it. I treasure you and I think that you're really a person who is so valuable, and so enough and so worthy. And you're so worthy of creating the LIFE and the TRUTH that works for you. Is it true? Carry on have your most beautiful Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. You've got this and I believe in you.

Oh my goodness, I always feel excited when I get to hit record again and think about another week passing - both the speed at which that happens and everything that happens in a week. You know… the great things. The disappointing things. Just the amount of life that happens in seven small days! Today I'm popping on and want to talk about setting huge goals.

... And there's certainly nothing wrong with setting huge goals, but I want to just throw out some ideas. And these are things that I've been playing around with this year, because at the beginning of the year, I set big goals and I said all of these different things that you have had sitting on the back burner for years and years are all these little ideas. This is the year you're going to try them. And if they don't work, they don't work but at least you're gonna throw them out there and see what sticks. And that's a pretty big goal. I wanted to launch some physical products, some greeting cards and stickers, which are out there right now but to be honest, it's true. I have not really told you about them. I wanted to paint a mural this year and we're we're middle of the year.

So this is kind of where you start thinking about Hey, am I on track. So wanted to paint a mural wanted to launch some physical products wanted to really be making some waves in birth work and wanted to really be be putting my effort behind these ideas rather than than just having them float around in my head. And I love systems and I love planning and I love ideas and I love the excitement of new things. So sometimes I can very easily get caught up in making the big goals. Are you like that to raise your hand Are you like me?

So we we make these big plans and sometimes we just start going and doing all the things and where this catches us up. Is we forget that magic is not in the doing. It's in the being. It's in the being of being being exactly the embodiment of somebody who does have a product line being the embodiment of somebody who paints murals, being the embodiment of somebody who owns a super successful birth work business. And when we forget that, that is the crux of everything.

Then we can really get stuck in spinning our tires and trying the next thing and ooh, this one isn't quite working and trying the next instead of realizing that if we were to fully sink in to being that then we would be astounded how quickly it happens. And yes, we are the ones who still have to say yes to the opportunities and no to the ones that aren't for us. But when we've decided and then when we feel the feelings that we would feel if we were those things, if we painted the murals and whatever your things, are you you're the only one who knows what those are. If we already were to feel those, and if we were to make that the focus. And by no means am I saying alright, you want to embody the feelings of a millionaire go spend a million dollars that you don't have.

I'm saying why would that feel like would you be a person then if you are a millionaire who did the things you said you were going to do who was meticulous in your words and actions who focused on things that really matter? Who didn't spend hours scrolling on social media and not connecting? Would you be a person who would care about your health? Would you be a person who would strive to connect with other people and to build relationships? You would write if you were a millionaire? All of those things would be true. So make them true right now. And watch what happens to the things that you want. It's like they they know they're welcome and they want to just zoom over to you. And when you stop getting caught up in the bits and pieces of how to force it to happen.

It allows it to happen. Imagine that you were at the beach and you saw the waves coming and the waves are coming in. It's so beautiful. And then you put a wall in front of those waves. Well, you've just stopped the waves. You've just stopped the natural flow of that energy that was coming in. The natural flow of energy that wants to come to you is what you want, what you want once you and it's not in the newsletters that need to be sent. It's not in the to do list that are a mile long that make you feel so important. It's in the feeling the way you want to feel and picking just the next thing that's going to continue to cultivate that in yourself. And that's where the magic is. It's not an a billion things on your to do list and tasks upon tasks upon tasks. Because when you start to feel those ways, the ways of what you want, you will see that everything else will fall to the side and the truest rightist quickest actions will float to the top and will become so apparent and those will be the things that you go and do with joy. They may not be easy things but there'll be the just write things and they'll feel really good. You've got this. All the things that you want are possible. I truly truly know it and I can't wait to see what you do. Go go go. You can start today.

Just wanted to pop on quickly today to share some little nuggets of wisdom that a friend of mine reminded me of this week. I am going through some stuff and feelings of unfairness for me are really triggering. They really impact my inner child; they really make me feel insecure and shameful… unwanted, unwelcome… the works! And when I allow that perspective of something being unfair to wiggle its way into my psyche, it changes everything...

… It changes everything about the way that it interacts with the world, the way that I interact with myself, the way that I interact with my family and when I look at the situation as unfair, I begin creating more chaos, as if to prove that it's unfair, as if to grapple at any straws. That I can claim for my out. And when I decide and it is a decision right every every viewpoint that we take on is a decision. We can say that we feel this way because somebody did this or because we're suddenly in this strange situation.

But regardless of what someone does or says or what's happening around us, we do choose the way that we look at the situation. And so when I look at what is whatever it is that's happening around me as unfair, I am looking for evidence almost every single second to prove that perspective. And if it were the other way around, if if our perspectives were built by facts and truth, then it's highly unlikely that I would come to the conclusion of unfairness. But often our perspective is not built on facts, right. Usually our perspective is built on old circumstances that we don't even remember, perhaps that we don't even know are still inside us running the show. Or it's built on fear, insecurity built on that little inner child that is really needing to be seen and has been forgotten. And so when I have this perspective of unfairness it feeds in me a fight response because I want it to be fair, and God damn it. I'm gonna make it fair.

And my friend reminded me that it's not unfair. In fact, it's not nothing like it's nothing. It's literally nothing. It's just something that happened. And something that's happening. And that's it. And I've mentioned it before in other episodes, that nothing means anything. And when we make everything mean something about us or something about the other person or something about life, gosh, it's exhausting for one thing. And for the second thing, it really is detrimental because

it's true that it just simply means nothing. It doesn't mean that we're wrong or right or worthy or unworthy or that something is unfair. Or that something is fair. The things that are happening in our lives. are simply things that are happening. And the sooner we can just accept it. Oh, this thing happened. Cool. Here's this moment I'm in right now. Okay.

The sooner we can just allow it without making it mean anything about us without taking it on as an insult or even without taking it on as like the greatest praise of life. And just letting it be the sooner we can do that. Gosh, the sooner that we are free. Can you imagine? The next time that you are in a disagreement with your partner? Can you imagine allowing that to simply mean nothing? Just simply just happen? There it is. It doesn't mean anything about you doesn't mean anything about them. And here you're just humans having this weird experience. And then in the next moment it's done.

Gosh, imagine just imagine what that would do for our lives, to have that freedom to stop labeling everything to stop creating these situations where we're becoming victim to an imbalance that we created by having that weird perspective. It's not fair. It's not unfair. It just is. And in what's happening at any moment, we are enough. And we're okay. Even when we're not, it's okay to not be okay. And yes it's okay to feel that things are unfair. But don't hold on to it. Don't Don't make that label. The God that you worship at because it's a false idol. The only divinity to whose feet you should bow is the her own and everything around you simply is none of it means anything about us. Because the truth is that who we are is just right. And we are enough. Thank you so much to pop on today. I truly, truly appreciate you. And I really do believe that you're enough. And I hope today that you can believe that as well. You're very very lucky. Have the most marvelous day!

I am so happy again to have you here! Today I have a challenge for you, and I really hope that you'll accept it because I think in accepting this challenge you're going to find that it slowly but surely changes you. It slowly but surely creates in your life all the things that you desire. What I challenge you today with is to feel good….

… and now maybe you've scoffed and you think that that is silly and simple and worthless. But I want you just to consider for a moment how your life began. When you were a baby, a toddler a child. The premise of your life was feeling good. It was learning it was exploring the world it was being part of the world. It was feeling good having your needs met. Reaching out to the people who you loved. It was really and truly when it comes down to it all about feeling good. Then as you grew up, people started to tell you what life was supposed to look like. And not many people told you that part of life is feeling good. And nobody told you that. Maybe feeling good could be a priority. And maybe feeling good. could create everything you want. Maybe nobody told you that.

In fact, I would put money on that bet that nobody told you that Cuz nobody told me that. That's for damn sure. So I want to challenge you today to feel good to feel good, no matter what is happening. And as I say feel good. I don't mean when other feelings come up, just ignore them. I mean, feel those carry on. But ultimately, if you can accept this challenge as a an invitation to something higher to feeling good. I believe that when we choose to feel good, it helps us align our compass to the things that are gonna make us feel good. I mean, it makes sense, doesn't it? If you desire to feel good, and you make the decision to feel good, you're going to start looking for things that make you feel like that. And you're going to start doing things that make you feel like that.

You're going to start surrounding yourself with people that make you feel like that. And you're going to make yourself feel like that. You're going to start keeping the commitments that you've made to yourself because you know what matters and you don't make you feel good. You're going to start being more kind and loving to yourself, regardless of what's happening around you. You're going to start going for those things that you really want. Because it feels good. And in the feeling good, something really cool and something really magical happens. And this part is totally out of your control, and totally wonderful and beautiful. And it's this better you feel, the better life gets. It's almost like by feeling good you're magnetizing to you more of that goodness. I mean, maybe it is exactly like that. By feeling good, you're attracting people into your sphere that are a match to what you're putting out.

Who can help to amplify the feelings that you already have. And there are matched to that because you're feeling it already. You're already choosing to feel good. You're already feeling good. So why wouldn't people and circumstances and things and opportunities come into your life that want to help you feel good? Right, we we want to be around people and things and opportunities that make us feel good. So think about it. If that's us feeling good people want to be around you. Win.

Can we know this? We know this. The people we most want to be around are the ones who feel great. And the cool thing is that we can choose this for ourselves too. And it might sound like I'm being Cavalier and throwing things out there as if I think that this is the easiest thing ever. I know it's not I know it's not easy to choose goodness. And happiness and joy every single day. Because it's really easy to get carried away with life. Stuff happens. We lose people we lose opportunities we lose careers we lose everything sometimes. And along with choosing joy, comes feeling all the other things too. And in the feeling of them. We allow ourselves to feel even more goodness because we're not holding on to things we're not holding on to anger and sadness and frustration.

We're not holding those in because we're so afraid to feel them. We're feeling them and then they can move along and we have more room to feel better and to feel good. So choosing to feel good. Doesn't mean ignoring everything else. It means thinking about what we need to clear in order to feel good. And that may mean spending a couple hours. Be angry. If that's what you need to do right now. It may mean spending a weekend on your own. It means caring for yourself enough to feel the things that need to be felt. So you can carry on to feeling good. And you're the only one who can know what is going to get you there. Everybody is different. Maybe to you. Feeling good means creating a career out of putting your hands in the dirt and growing beautiful things. Maybe for you feeling good means staying at home with your children and nurturing your family. Maybe for you feeling good means going on fantastic adventures all around the world. Or let's flip it. Maybe feeling good for you means never leaving your neighborhood but when it comes down to it, the heart of feeling good is paying attention to who you are. And following those inklings of curiosity and love and self discovery. Because every time that you follow that little bread crumb trail gosh it is taking you somewhere so magical for you won't know where until you follow step by little step by little step by little step and some of those steps towards goodness are not going to make sense and sometimes choosing to feel good means doing something that maybe is uncomfortable along the way. It means choosing peace. It means choosing the things that are going to get you where you want to go and on the way remembering that you're doing all of this for a reason. And you can feel that right now. You don't have to have the things be in the perfect relationship have the amazing gorgeous home in order to feel good. You are good. Think about it. Think about yourself as that little baby who was perfect and blameless.

That's you that's you. We don't just lose that part of us as we grow up. That's there and you are made to feel good. And you can so think about it. Are you going to take my challenge? You're going to choose to feel good to look around you for things that are going to help you feel that. You're going to choose to feel the things you need to feel on the way so that you can continue to choose what you want. And are you just kind of decide that it's who you are. You're good. And you're going to feel that way. You're so enough you're so good. You're so worthy. You're so wonderful. And the path that you're on is absolutely just right. Just right timing, just right place, just right. moves just right. Everything and you're here to feel good. I love you so so much. And I'm super, super proud of you. Go on and rock this day, baby. It's yours. It's yours to feel good. You're very very loved.

Hello, good morning, good afternoon! I am coming today and hitting record feeling curious about what I'm going to talk to you about. I don't have any plan and I'm hitting record feeling some resistance and some discomfort confirmed in speaking because here's the thing I don't have it all together and I'm always trying to be better and to learn but I am human. And I guess the topic today is being human and being flawed and sitting in the discomfort of making really big mistakes and sitting in the discomfort of all the heavy gross stomach turning feelings.

I've talked a lot about feelings on here, and about really feeling them to completion and when there's these type of heavier body feelings, it's through our body, that we move them and if we don't allow that for ourselves, then it very quickly it can become something that can physically make us ill.

And the reason for that is because our body is giving us such big signals in the churning of the stomach in the heaviness of the chest. Big signals that there's something here that we really need to pay attention to and if we don't pay attention to that first signal.

Well, of course, the body has to get louder. And this is where sometimes we get sick where we where we may not have physically had an injury, where we have pains that are kind of unknown of of origin where we have soreness that we're not really sure where it came from. And I really believe that those type of aches and pains and discomfort are often signals that we have not been listening to something in us that needs to be looked at.

And for me that discomfort is

    today a feeling of fear.

And as I check in a feeling of shame, and a feeling of guilt

and to me, I can feel those in my chest and in my stomach, and it feels like not being able to take a deep deep breath.

And I want to share with you how those feelings feel because I want you to be able to think about listening to your body when you're in this place too. And we can be doing all the work we can be choosing joy, we can be looking for love we can be embodying love, and we can still come up to shame and fear and guilt.

Because we're human, and we're always going to be making mistakes.

Even the most enlightened people are making mistakes and the more that we lean into this discomfort, the less likely it is that we're going to make the same mistake again.

But when we don't look at it, and we don't pay attention. Well, of course it's just going to keep happening.

So when we're feeling the shame and the discomfort of making a mistake of doing something wrong, whether it was deliberate or not. And I mean sometimes, let's be honest, we are deliberately bad. We deliberately do things to hurt people we deliberately lie we we make mistakes and I have and shame can be good and it can be very destructive.

And when I talk about shame, the shame that I'm talking about is the internal looking at what we've done wrong and feeling discomfort that we did that. What I'm not talking about is the shame that has been put on us by society or by our families when we were growing up. And that kind of shame is the shame of being wrong in who we are. And that's not what I'm talking about here. I'm talking about the shame and guilt of the realization that we are wrong. And sometimes that shame and guilt can be really sneaky and it can come when we have been wronged and we feel embarrassed about being in this type of situation.

So these feelings can show us both where we need to change personally, and also where we need to change in relationship. And so shame and guilt from an external source.

Again, not what we're talking about here, right? We're talking about that internal feeling of, ooh, something's wrong here. I don't know what this is and something needs to change.

And when we really sit with this feeling our body and our intuition will always steer us right.

And sometimes we don't have an answer right away. Sometimes the answer comes at the most surprising of times, on a walk playing with our kids in the shower.

But I want to encourage you that when these feelings are happening for you when you're deep in this type of really uncomfortable, let's call them disgusting. Feelings and not wrong, right? We're human. All the feelings are okay, but these ones feel really disgusting. For me. They're some of the worst types of feelings to have.

And so if we can allow ourselves the moments to feel disgusting, and to remind ourselves that this isn't going to destroy us. These feelings are here to guide us. These feelings are here to show us that something is so out of alignment.

And they're here as a compass.

It really truly truly they're here as a compass.

And it comes back also to everything is happening for us. So these feelings, these situations are happening for us sometimes for us to see, hey, we need to get out of here. Hey, we need to change something in this relationship in this career in this life.

And often, what they're trying to show us is that we need to change something in ourselves. We need to take some more responsibility. We need to really move through life with more integrity.

And you are the only one who can know for yourself when you are in these deep, dark times.

Where you are being guided here. We're the only one.

But there's one thing that I know for certain and it's that our true intuition our gut instincts will never ever steer us wrong.

They certainly will steer us to challenging situations at times because everything in our brain will say that this is the wrong path.

The we will know it is true.

And I can't give you a simple answer for how you will know it's true. But you know it in your bones.

You'll know that when you choose yourself and peace and growth and change.

You will know the path and sometimes the path is so different than what we've been told we should do.

And when that's the case, that's really scary.

And we can use that fear as a guide. We can we can use that fear, to have a conversation to ask it. Hey, can you show me what's the worst here that could happen? Let's play with that. Let's investigate how deep we can go with this fear.

    Again another feeling right.

And we can walk through life with fear beside us instead of in front of us. Instead of guiding the way we can invite it to join us on this journey, especially when we're taking a path that might not feel allowed may not feel acceptable to the world.

But you know whose path it is.

    It's yours. It's your path.

And taking that path even when scary and inviting fear to come and not making it bad.

Taking that path will over and over again help you increase your confidence help you increase your feelings of self awareness of self sovereignty. Taking the path that you know your to take will always always always, in the end, be your right paths.

And so I encourage you today if you're feeling in a similar place as I am of really pick just comfort and really big unknowns too.

Take the time to be quiet with yourself and see what comes up.

See where you feel guided best. And sometimes a question we can ask to help us with this is what path feels light? What path feels like it would bring me more peace if it were to all work out.

What path do I feel I should take and what does my resistance to that should say about the path that I want to be on?

Listen these things are not are not easy.

And I know without a shadow of a doubt that we're always going to be okay.

And by okay I don't certainly mean jumping from the rooftops for joy.

I mean that you will be here.

I won't be here and we'll still be navigating our way through life. No matter what happens.

I must be learning most to be growing and I know that about you for sure I know that about you that you care about growing and you care about learning and you care about listening to yourself.

And today is the day to do that.

I really adore you and I'm so so grateful always for you to pop in. And today I really thank you to consider what the really uncomfortable really gut wrenching feelings are telling you and I'm gonna go sit with mine as well. Have the most blessed day you're so so loved.

Hello, welcome again. It's Tuesday! Oh my gosh, another week. Look at you. Look at you in that last week. Look at the things that you moved through such grace. Look at the things that maybe didn't go quite as you hoped. Look at the times that you stumbled and fell down and got back up again. Wow! You have so much to be proud of and I'm so proud of you.

I want to talk today about dancing. I am a dancer! I love dancing, nothing professional. I am not so fantastic at coordination of steps. But I love to feel what is in my body and wants to be expressed. And when I think about dancing, it feels full and overflowing and abundant in my body. And it feels like a gift to myself to move in whatever way feels good at that time. Sometimes it looks pretty weird. Who looks totally bizarre arms flailing leg shaking. And who am I kidding? Yes, also boobs flying all over the place. But those times when it feels really wild and maybe a bit ugly.

I'm also allowing my body to do just what it feels like doing in that moment. With no cares in the world. And I don't know about you, but have you ever watched a child who's so into the music? And his dancing was wild abandon? Whoever watched that they could care less what anybody else thinks. They're not paying attention to how it looks, to paying attention to how it feels. And I want to invite you today when this podcast is done if you can just to pop on one song and to allow your body to move in whatever ways come up. At the beginning, perhaps you might feel stiff or you might feel uncomfortable. But maybe by the end of the song. You'll be craving more. You'll want more of this movement. More of this giving to yourself. As humans we're born in bodies for a reason. These bodies are our compass these bodies are our guides these bodies hold everything that it is that we have gone through and also everything it is that we want to be and moving in our bodies in a way that feels good and also in a way that feels just right. Maybe not so pleasurable. Maybe not so perfect, but Right. Maybe a shaking, maybe a groaning only you know in that specific moment what your body needs, and only you can give it and so in the movements that feel good and maybe odd we're allowing our body to feel emotions. Because where else do emotions come from? If not our bodies right we can think in our brains that we feel deeply in our bodies. And sometimes no amount of thinking can stop us from feeling a certain way. And so I want to share with you some different ways to shift and feel emotions through our bodies and to get out of that thinking brain because thinking and feeling are not the same. And so, where we need to feel is in fact in our bodies.

And let's think about the last time you felt very angry. You probably felt like lashing out or throwing something or punching something. And you didn't have to think it through. You felt the anger and you felt the immediate need to defuse that anger. Perhaps with a blow and maybe you gave that to yourself. Maybe you allowed yourself to punch a pillow. I have a perfect feather pillow that is the perfect punching pillow. Highly recommend or maybe you stopped yourself because it wasn't the right time or wasn't the right place. Or maybe you were afraid of those big feelings.

But in the stopping you have stopped that cycle of feeling in the cycle of emotion in its tracks. And there will come a time where that anger that you felt but didn't express it's gonna come knocking again and the next time it might knock a little louder because you didn't listen the first time and if you block it and push it down again. Well, next time it's gonna really have to bang on the door, isn't it? Our feelings need to be felt. And here's some ideas for anger. Perhaps you go for a drive and blare music and yell or stop in an abandoned parking lot and scream and wail and pound your hands on the driving on the steering wheel does it sound like I know this from experience? Absolutely.

Because I know that my anger must come out. And if I don't allow it, sometimes it shows up at a time that is even worse. Or it shows up with my family. So when I can give myself the gift of fully expressing any emotion, anger, grief, despair, joy, happiness, satisfaction, when I can give myself the gift of expressing those. Then it means that they don't have to pop up all over the place to try to get my attention because they know they're going to be valued and they know that I'm going to pay attention to them. And the thing about this is every time that you pay attention to your emotion and allow it to be felt to its completion, and only you can know when that is then the next time it's easier to do and the next time it's easier to do and the next time it's easier to do and you'll find that instead of days spent feeling off and odd. You can now move through the uncomfortable and challenging emotions rather quickly, sometimes in minutes because you're showing up for yourself in a way that that shows all your feelings that they matter to you're showing up in a way that allows your feelings to feel honored.

And gosh think about it. Think about it when you feel honored by another person. Do what you almost want to be on your best behavior 20 You almost want to show your best face, do what you want to make them believe in you and trust you and respect you almost even more so think about that for our emotions. Think about honoring and respecting your anger. And then the reciprocity of that. Your anger now wants to work with you and now wants to guide you and now wants to dance with you and now wants to work together with you so that it can be heard and you can be heard and you can carry on with your day everything that we feel matters challenging or not. And we all want to feel happy and joyful.

Being human means we're not always going to feel happy and joyful because life comes with challenges. And they're happening for us and every single one can be held out and investigated and looked at and every every challenge can have its silver lining, let's be cliche and every emotion as well. And perhaps maybe you need some space from your emotions when they're big. And can you imagine holding them in front of you and looking at them from every angle and every facet. And finding something that interests you about it and simply asking your anger. What do you need from me? We forget that we can communicate and have conversations with our emotions with our inner child with our inner wisdom with our bodies. And when we ask these questions, it is surprising the answers that we will get

Maybe it is dancing, maybe just punching a pillow maybe just driving in your van. Maybe it's some tre.

Maybe it's going for a walk or a run. Maybe it's lifting weights. Maybe it's jumping on your kids trampoline. Feeling your emotions through your body. All always be a gift. And the more you do it, the easier it becomes. And the easier it becomes, the more impactful each feeling becomes because you know that nothing is wrong. And it allows you to be so compassionate and loving to yourself in the times that are challenging. And it allows you to open up a communication to find out what kind of dance your body wants here to see what kind of vocalization needs to come. And you in this investigating

If you can maintain some curiosity as you begin to dance with your emotions, you will find that it's interesting, and it's intriguing and it's kind of fun to learn about the ways that you can work with yourself and you will find things that you have no idea for example, the Tre and that is engaging your muscles in such a way to trigger the muscle spasms to release emotions that are stuck in our bodies. Maybe you do tapping. There's so many different modalities that can help you to dig deeper. And also it's as simple sometimes as taking a walk taking a walk speaking to yourself with such love and kindness, asking your emotions what they want to tell you and making it fun dancing with it. I'll leave you here with again an invitation to pop out a song. Move your body in whichever way it wants to move.

Maybe there isn't things stuck in there that need to be investigated or needs to be released through your body. I can't know but I know somebody who does. And I know somebody who's a pretty good expert and it's you. And you are so, so so knowledgeable in who you are. And don't ever forget that because the world has told you that you are not the expert. But you are the one living in this body. You're the one feeling these feelings, thinking these thoughts living this life. And it's yours to dance with baby you've got this

    EPISODE TRANSCRIPT

You are so enough right now. Can you just accept that for just a moment? Just try it on. Just try it on. If you were to believe that you are so loved and so enough, what would that feel like? Just right now, for a moment. Just try it on. You are so loved. You are so enough.

And then, in this feeling of enoughness… Can you also then take it a step further and just try on for size the idea that everything is happening FOR you at all times. The challenges and the joys, the mistakes, the triumphs, the sorrow, the heartbreak, the congratulations.

So in this moment of being enough, and realizing that everything happens for you, can you then go a step further. Can you see that the things that you are afraid of and the things you're worried about, In fact, are not happening in this moment. And if they were to happen, they would be happening for you. For your higher growth. For you to delve into new corners of yourself that you've never looked at before. For you to meet a new challenge that you've never been in. For you to discover and uncover and relish in something new in your life. Something wonderful, or maybe something challenging.

In this moment of being totally enough and totally loved and totally worthy… in this moment where everything is happening for you and in this moment where everything that you're afraid of and everything you're worried about is not happening right now… Can you imagine then, zooming towards you right now in this moment, all the things you desire?

Maybe they are feelings: feelings of peace, feelings of ease, feelings of strength, maybe a feeling of deep, deep compassion and love for yourself. Maybe it's money. Maybe it's relationships. Maybe it's work that fills you up.

In realizing that the things that you are worried about and afraid of are not happening right now, can you fill that void with things that are good - with joy and gratitude and with love?

Now, we might just take this on as a thought exercise just for this moment. But I ponder what would happen in your life if you went through your days, day after day, with this in mind? With realizing that the things you're afraid of are not happening right now?

If you begin to think about and draw to you the things that you do want, instead of using any of your so valuable thoughts on the things that you don't? Then should a thing happen that you don't desire in your life…Could you perhaps invite the idea in that this is happening for you? This certainly doesn't mean to not feel and it certainly doesn't mean to not be hurt if it's hurtful or to not cry, or to not be angry, or to not be sad (very emotion has its place!).

Feeling the uncomfortable things is part of being human. The sooner we feel them, the sooner they pass and the sooner we can move into more of what we truly desire.

Now, we all have choices all day long, every single day —> What we want to do with our thoughts and our time.

What we do with our thoughts and our time, very, very much impacts how we feel.

Maybe you're not being conscious of how you're thinking every day, but you do realize that you have been feeling so great. Perhaps this is a nudge to pay attention to where your thoughts are taking you. I know for myself that the times when I dwell on my fear and my worry, it's very easy to go down that spiral, and it's very easy for me to find people who will go there with me! “Misery loves company.” Isn't that what they say?

I also know that when I'm following that train of thought instead of allowing the emotions to be felt feeling them and carrying on when I create more of those thoughts.

It's a distraction from what I desire, and it brings in more of what I don't because I'm looking for it. we've ever heard about the concept of when you are thinking about buying a red Toyota, now you see many red Toyota is driving all around us because what we think about, we notice and we attempt to create unconsciously in our lives. So there were not more red Toyotas all the sudden because you decided you were going to buy one. There are more red, Toyota's all the sudden because you were paying attention to them. They were catching you with a corner of your eye where before they wouldn't have we can do this with anything. Anything. We can do this with feeling strong in our bodies. We can look for times and things and places where we feel strong and we can create more of those. We can look for times and things and places that help us to feel safe and we can create more of that. And it all starts from inside. And the funny thing is, it sounds so simple. Doesn't it? It's all up to ask. But the reality is we live in a world that has taught us that other people make us angry. Other people make us sad.

We're taught to give that power away for a very young age. And so then when we come to a time in our lives where we want to be more in tune or conscious more accepting and loving to ourselves, it feels so foreign because we've never been taught that we are the magic. We are the key to everything that we want. And the more that we seek it out and the more that we love ourselves, the easier it comes because if you were the most loving, the most compassionate to yourself. Would you choose to stay in the fear and worry? No. You would choose to give yourself a soft warm hug tell yourself that you are loved to be with yourself in the sadness. And then you would say Come on. Let's go. Let's go choose what we want. And let's have fun. Can you love yourself enough to allow yourself to choose the things that you want? Gosh, it's such a juicy, wonderful overflowing life when we do this I have come from my lowest of lows and spiraling downward and wondering why is this happening? Why can't I get through this? What is wrong with me to now here realizing that my life is everything I want it to be because I choose.

I choose to show up and choose to love myself. I choose to see the things that are good. I choose to follow peace. I choose to embrace joy and dancing and movement. And in all of that I know that I am enough and I am loved. And I know that everything is happening for me, not to me. And I know that the things that I'm afraid of the things I may worry about deep down inside are not happening right now. And in refusing to give those things any power or any place at the table, I love room for everything that I truly want to come to me. Then you can do this. You are so worthy and so loved. And your table is big enough for everything that you want. Especially when fear and worry are kicked out of the dining room. There's room for joy and abundance and ease. There's room for play. There's room for magic and you have permission to choose all of that

You're so worthy. Here so so so so sol, so loved. Thank you for popping in today. I really truly wish you the most blessed a blessed day. You’re enough!
