Vision 10-The Journey and Assessment of the Visionary Mind

Summary: This episode is a profound and symbolic account of three decades of spiritual endeavor undertaken by a being who regards himself as an intermediary between the realm of concrete Form and the realm of formless Content. In this special gathering, we are presented with a retrospective of his becoming: from his encounter in the Realm of the Teachers, through the clarification of his mission, to his manifestation within the realm of Form. It is the parable of a human being who, through inspiration descending from the formless mind, escaped ambiguity, and, having traversed the domains of analysis and imagination, attained the exalted station of the "Visionary Mind." Through the symbol of the tree, the episode further unfolds the role of this patient teacher, who for decades endeavored to guide the young through purification and instruction. Yet he voices a deep disillusionment at humanity's indifference to the higher meanings of existence — at their submersion in material attractions and the realm of Form, and their pursuit of the mirage of "acquisition" and mere "havingness" (possession devoid of essence). In the end, with a heart wounded by the betrayal and ingratitude of companions who chose the path of becoming ordinary adults, he announces the conclusion of his tenure as a teacher and returns to the world of dreams and the eternal assembly of the Teachers. This narrative stands as an elegy to the teacher's boundless love, and to his estrangement among human beings who no longer sense, within themselves, any need for a guide.

vision 09- Language, How does language and speech manifest in the human being?

Summary: In this episode, the teacher offers a profound insight into the concept of language, presenting it not merely as a set of sounds, but as the "primary carrier and transmitter of meaning" — rooted in the bond between the mind and inspiration. He describes the human mind as the "inventor of mental forms," tasked with presenting these images to the "formless aspect" of existence, where — if the mind is prepared — the spark of inspiration leads to the discovery of meaning (enkeshaf, or unveiling). The intriguing concept of the "Dialectic in the Hall of Mirrors" is introduced as a method for voluntary thinking: through successive reflections of mental images, a "zone of awareness" is formed, giving rise to cognition as the "emergence of linguistic signs." By distinguishing between intra-mental and inter-mental dialogue, the teacher argues that the mind is perpetually incomplete and under construction — and that only through dialectic with the other do "enveloped" concepts (meanings wrapped within ideas) gain determination and objectivity. Finally, while explaining the transition from object-oriented, denotative language to symbolic and representational language, he warns that speech devoid of a permanent link to its source of inspiration becomes "soulless" — and that its symbols (including the teacher himself, as a symbol) will perish once that connection is severed. Furthermore, to illustrate these concepts with a concrete example, he recommends watching The Miracle Worker (1962).

vision 08- Perception in Humans and Its Phases, How do humans attain the stage of perception?

Summary: In this episode, the instructor elucidates the concept of "Perception in Humans and Its Phases," delineating how cognition is constructed from initial encounters with external phenomena to internal analytical processing. Key insights highlighted include the conceptualization of "Impression (and Sensation)" as the primary physical and physiological stage—occurring via the brain and nervous system—that registers the impact of external objects on the mind. This is followed by the formation of "Ideas or Concepts," which serve as non-material duplicates of that initial reception. Additionally, the process of "Association and Recall of Ideas" in the absence of external stimuli is explained as the foundation for the mind's agency in intellection, ratiocination, and imagination. Furthermore, by dividing the mental process into two distinct phases—the "Ascending Arc" (the transition from intuition and immediate, presential knowledge to abstract concepts and acquired knowledge) and the "Descending Arc" (the reduction and encapsulation of thoughts within the framework of speech and language)—the instructor underscores the significance of extracting inter-ideational relations such as causality, contiguity, symmetry, and necessity. Concluding with a four-fold cyclical model, the lecture addresses social interactions and the formation of a collective, intersubjective repository of thoughts. To achieve a harmonious social life and mitigate conflicts arising from the imposition of personal concepts onto others, it is recommended to operate based on a minimal threshold of registered consensus in practice. Finally, in alignment with the instructional material delivered in this and the preceding session, it is suggested to watch and analyze the feature films What Dreams May Come and Waking Life to identify and evaluate the corresponding practical manifestations of these concepts.

vision 07- In-Itself & For-Itself, What mode of Being do we possess?

Summary: In this episode, we delve into the fundamental concepts of 'Being' and explore the distinct dimensions of existence. The core of the discussion focuses on contrasting Being-in-itself (the fixed, unconscious existence of inanimate objects like mountains and rocks, which lack perception and the experience of ecstasy) with Being-for-itself (the uniquely human mode of existence). Through the experience of consciousness and transcendence, human beings construct a distinctive subjective space to interpret and identify the world. Furthermore, we examine the vital role of Language as the tool that liberates individuals from being objectified by others, enabling both the transmission of meaning and a profound connection between 'Beings-for-themselves'. Finally, utilizing cinematic examples, this episode illustrates the varying levels of perception and worldviews among individuals. Finally, we cordially invite you to watch the feature film Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

vision 06- The Color of Paradise (God), Narration and Parable of the Hands.

Summary: In this episode, the instructor analyzes the film The Color of Paradise (God), striving to move beyond the surface-level narrative to reach an interpretive reading. By introducing the concepts of the 'concrete or formed space' and 'abstract or formless space' of the mind, the speaker examines the three main characters: the blind child, despite his visual impairment, maintains a vibrant and creative connection with the world through his presence, kindness, and receptivity to inspiration, yet he suffers from the 'wound' of being rejected by his father. The grandmother symbolizes acceptance and an affirmative, life-giving outlook; with minimal distance from the 'formless space,' she plays the role of a supporter and a provider of meaning. In contrast, the father, with a negating, fear-driven, and transactional mindset, attempts to eliminate the problem rather than understand it, ultimately harming not only his child but also himself and those around him. The episode concludes with a critical invitation to rethink our own mental structures: whether we choose to have a receptive, inspired, and life-giving mind (represented by the child and grandmother) or a closed, transactional, and psychologically eroding mindset (represented by the father) that unintentionally creates suffering for ourselves and others.

vision 05 - Where is the friend's house, Love, Simplicity, Loyalty.

Summary: In this episode, the teacher utilizes the simplicity of the protagonist's behavior in the film Where is the Friend's House? to explain the contrast between the "formless mind" (the source of inspiration, revelation, and innate compassion) and the "form mind" (the realm of habits and illusory complexities),,. He explains that inspirations and exalted concepts descend like rain from the sky of the formless mind onto the ground of our mind; however, the expansion of the form mind in adulthood creates a "gap" that freezes and imprisons these inspirations within the darkness of the form mind. Finally, the teacher emphasizes that to break free from this impasse and return to "simplicity" and a quality life, a person needs the light of intellect and the presence of a guide (symbolized as the sun) to liberate these imprisoned concepts and act once more based on truth and a direct connection to inner inspirations, just like the child in the story.

vision 04 - Howl’s Moving Castle, Journey, Space-Time Window, Chronotope, Love and the Price Paid.

Summary: In this episode, the teacher focuses on the anime "Howl's Moving Castle" to examine the profound concept of "travel" as a conceptual and metaphorical displacement within the fabric of time and space (chronotope), which goes far beyond a simple physical relocation,,,. The program emphasizes that every human analyzes events based on their own "window of time and space," and true travel must lead to a change in attitude, mental growth, and intellectual elevation; otherwise, one returns from the journey empty-handed. By linking this anime to literary masterpieces like Nezami's "Seven Beauties" (Haft Peykar) and Attar's "The Conference of the Birds" (Mantiq al-Tayr), the speaker cites the character "Sophie" as an example who embarks on a journey driven by love and affection,,. Despite the cost of growing old, she ultimately breaks curses and reaches the "cave of knowledge" while recreating those around her through her internal transformations and persistent kindness. Essentially, elements like the castle are analyzed as a symbol of the human mind, and the character "Calcifer" as the driving fire of this mental castle, to illustrate the necessity of moving toward deeper existential layers and changing one's behavior and conduct.

Vision 03 - A Monster Calls, The lecturer is speaking in Persian and discussing, The Bases, Paradigm and Discourse.

Summary: In this episode, the instructor draws on the film A Monster Calls to present the material in the form of a philosophical discourse and reflection, focusing on themes such as “motifs, the mental realm, and discourse.” Throughout the series, the speaker employs the metaphor of the “monster” to examine the nature of thinking, perception, and the structure of the human mind, and to analyze the relationship between mental experiences, reality, and the formation of meaning. This video is part of Season Three of the Vision series, in which each episode explores a specific theme or metaphor from a philosophical and cognitive perspective. This particular episode focuses on how abstract concepts are recognized and observed within the mind, as well as on the formation of mental speech and discourse, addressing concepts such as subjective experience, semantic analysis, and different domains of thought. It should ultimately be clarified that the term “monster” is intended to signify a guide or a teacher.

Vision 01 - A man for all seasons movie, The lecturer is speaking in Persian and discussing, Concentrated human beings in contrast to the grown-ups.

Summary: This episode explains the worldview of a teacher who, through a critique of the "Grown-ups" approach, perceives life not as a race for material accumulation and possession, but merely as an "encounter" and an opportunity for receptivity and the reflection of truth in the mind. Identifying with the character of Thomas More in the film A Man for All Seasons, the teacher illustrates the contrast between honor and authenticity against the opportunism and utilitarianism of "Grown-ups"—individuals who choose repetitive lives and the elimination of others for personal gain over genuine investigation. He references the bitter experience of betrayal by those close to him for the sake of status (mirroring the character Richard Rich), emphasizing that loyalty to the truth and one’s human oath is like holding water in the palm of one's hand; if one opens their fingers by abandoning their principles, that truth is lost so completely that it can never be recovered. Ultimately, this discourse asserts that piety and contentment are virtues neglected in the self-serving world of "Grown-ups," yet remain essential for preserving an individual's inner integrity.

The lecturer is speaking in Persian and discussing the Article 20 – Temporal Determinism and the Freedom to Choose a Positional State of Mind or Station

According to the substance theory, or substantial motion, the human being is situated within temporal determinism. Cycles, durations, and conditions expose humans to shaped changes in life. However, by attending to mental or intellectual experiences, humans can be situated in a positional state of mind. By examining the works or remains of previous human generations, we find that regardless of their physical life, they convey specific mental and intellectual experiences. For example, attention to external factors appears in the form of imagining myths, totems, gods, both principal and subordinate deities, and so on.

Therefore, temporal determinism refers to the determinism of the shaped transformations of human life. But in the mind’s positional motion—which involves mental experiences and the extraction of abstract concepts—levels of mind and freedom of choice emerges. In temporal motion, which causes stage-like events, life may be confined to the survival-oriented mind. Yet through concentration, humans can enter abstract thinking, extracting hidden meanings and separating them from shaped appearances. This constitutes a gnostic life. By choosing a positional state of mind and pursuing a gnostic life, humans can distance themselves from temporal determinism. The physical body remains subject to temporal motion, but the human mind is volitional in intuitive or mystical motion.

The lecturer is speaking in Persian and discussing the Article 19 – The Levels of Human Life or the Territorialization of Station

    I died to the inanimate (mineral) state and became endowed with growth;

Then I died to growth and attained the life of the animal.

I died from animality and became human (Adam).

Why then should I fear? When have I ever become less by dying?

At the next level, I shall die to being human,

So that I may soar and raise my head among the angels.

Yet even from the angelic state I must transcend,

For everything perishes except His Face.

Once more I shall pass beyond the angel,

Becoming that which cannot be conceived by imagination.

    Then I shall enter non-existence.

And non-existence, like the sound of an organ, will say to me:

“Verily, unto Him shall we return.”

1- Darkness or misguidance, synonymous with mineral or inanimate life: Imagine a mine in which various elements exist without substantial motion or consciousness. This corresponds to territorialization in time or substantial motion. Substantial motion is inherent, revelatory, necessary, and decreed for the contingent being.

2- Territorialization in time: With the reception of the Water of Life, parallel to receiving revelation, the human emerges from darkness toward light. This corresponds to temporal territorialization: gaining the effusion of revelation and beginning of the substantial motion toward forming the conscious but illusory mind in the horizontal course of life.

3- Vegetative life, shaped mind: Appearance of form through encounter with light, the emergence of the shaped mind, and plant-like vitality.

4- Animal life, illusory mind: Receiving revelation in order to enter territorialization of station or place, in proximity to the formless or unconscious mind. This marks the beginning of vertical motion of life. In the previous level, the illusory mind was bound by causal propositions of the form “if this, then that.” But in this level, vertical attraction propositions arise, concerned with “why,” “what,” and “how.” The minimum result of this level is the appearance of practical reason or survival-oriented mind in the human.

5- Human life, heart-oriented mind: Receiving revelation so that the heart may be endowed with direction, in proximity to the formless mind.

6- Imaginative mind, distancing from illusory mind: At this level, the human separates from the illusory or shaped mind. With the heart’s perfection toward forming the imaginative space, the creation of concepts from shaped experiences begins, and through a vertical journey, the human begins forming hypotheses and relational concepts from shaped experiences. The minimum result of this level is the emergence of legislative reason.

7- Human station and angelic territorialization, exercise of dream: Receiving revelation for the formation of the inspirational mind. Separation from time and space limits. With the heart’s completion, the human moves—contrary to an emphasis on particular laws—toward universal laws. With the expansion of imagination and the offering of general theory, the human attains philosophical reason.

8- Visionary mind for meeting with the Name: At this level, the human receives revelation for elevating the inspirational mind to the visionary mind. This level is the station of direct witnessing.

The lecturer is speaking in Persian and discussing the Article 17 – Degrees of Cognition

    1. Cognition based on mental propositions derived from shaped-body experiences, manifesting as pleasure and pain, without the conditional presence of an observer.

    2. Cognition based on the first level, but now with the conditional presence of an observer, or with interfering observational presence.

    3. Cognition based on cause-and-effect mental propositions, where there is interfering conditional presence of an observer, often in the form of imposed beliefs.

    4. Cognition based on the same cause-and-effect mental propositions from level (3), but without the interfering conditional presence of a resident observer, achieved through one’s own shaped-body experiences or by encountering the shaped bodies of others.

    5. Cognition based on noticing the differences, mismatches, or significant contradictions between levels (3) and (4).

    6. Cognition arising from the recognition of the ineffectiveness of the illusory mind, leading to a transition of mental propositions into the space of rational experience.

    7. Cognition based on the presence of the heart, accomplished through the removal of the illusory mind.

The seventh level begins with the appearance of a guide (or mentor), whose necessity is felt from the fifth level onward. Humans encounter the guide (or mentor) according to the functioning of their unconscious mind at level (5). However, due to lack of alignment at level (6) and because of the dominance of the illusory mind over them, they lose connection with the guide. If the individual does not return to level (5) and actively seek the guide, they will fall into confusion. They will face the sealing of the heart, veiling of the senses, and a regressive (degenerative) trajectory of the mind.

The lecturer is speaking in Persian and discussing the Article 16 – The Meaning and Function of the Heart

The heart represents the mechanism by which shaped data—arising from practical experience—are transformed into abstract concepts on one hand, and the application of results derived from rational experience back into the shaped environment on the other.

Now, let us review the stages of the presence of the heart:

1- Entering the realm of forms or shaped space for practical experience, with full observance of time and space parameters.

2- Creating a secure channel to transfer the collected data from the input gateways to the active rational, safely navigating through the illusory (phantasmic) space of the mind.

3- Extracting abstract concepts through rational experience, in order to form an imaginative space within the mind for deeper interaction with the unconscious mind.

4- Generating a space of willpower (space of intention) within the mind, to convert abstract concepts back into shaped data, preparing them for external action.

5- Creating a secure channel to transfer the shaped data—now refined by the space of intention—from the willpower domain to the output gateways, again carefully passing through the illusory space of the mind.

6- Re-entering the shaped space, this time for the execution of willful action, again in strict observance of time and space parameters.

The illusory space of the mind arises due to the connection between the mind and the exemplary (physical) body as well as the mind's interaction with the shaped space. When shaped data from the exemplary body and the shaped environment enter the mind without respecting time and space boundaries, and without proper cognitive processing, they generate mental agitation and disturbance. Moreover, the use of pre-processed information from other human minds, especially when such information fails to align with the time and space conditions of the receiving mind, further exacerbates this internal turmoil.

The lecturer is speaking in Persian and discussing the Article 15 – The Illusory Mind, the Imaginative Mind, the Visionary Mind

The mechanism of human thinking consists of two stages: First, the stage of experiential interaction with forms—that is, practical engagement within the realm of forms or shaped space, where the human being both influences and is influenced by external phenomena. Second, the stage of rational experience, where the mind engages in the extraction of concepts from shaped (formal) data, reflecting deeply on the meaning behind sensory and situational inputs.

The illusory mind is trapped in habitual and imitative practical experiences. Its interactions with the realm of forms are repetitive, unquestioned, and often driven by external social norms or emotional conditioning. This mind imposes ready-made conclusions on life decisions without passing through rational filtering or critical analysis. It suffers from incomplete shaped experience and a lack of rational conceptualization. Such a mind leads a narrative-driven life, where events are interpreted and retold within the limits of memorized patterns and external assumptions. When confronted with analytical or philosophical questions, the illusory mind typically responds with avoidance, delayed reactions, defensive justification, or outright dismissal.

The imaginative mind, in contrast, engages in structured and intentional practical experiences where both influence and response are consciously directed. This reflective behavior arises from the mind’s active participation in rational experience. Faced with questions, the imaginative mind responds with enthusiasm, openness, and curiosity, demonstrating a genuine thirst for understanding. This mind leads a parable-telling life—a life marked by meaning-oriented reflections that emerge from shaped experiences but are refined and enriched through rational insight. To facilitate this, the imaginative mind uses purposeful and selected shaped data to build new mental spaces for rational inquiry and conceptual discovery. Furthermore, it develops intentional strategies for expressing its insights back into the shaped (formal) space, thus creating a deliberate cycle of experience, reflection, and communication

The visionary mind is a mature imaginative mind that, due to constant use of both practical experience and rational experience, reaches such a level that it experiences inspirational revelation within its imaginative space. This mind is capable of foreseeing or envisioning the stages of its future life, even after the conscious mind has detached from the realm of forms.

The lecturer is speaking in Persian and discussing the Article 14 – The Attribute of Moral Vigilance in Human: The Cautious Human

Now, the human being understands how crucial it is—for achieving and attaining inner peace—to manage their method of entering the shaped (formal) space, their susceptibility to its influence, and the analytical processes within the mind as mechanisms of thought. This importance is directly related to the degree to which the mind can extract concepts from shaped information and, subsequently, to the extent of mental activation and how inspiration occurs within the mind.

Through personal experience, the human remembers instances of illusory, imagination, and dreaming (envisioning), all triggered by mental stimulation. These experiences make the individual aware of the existence and role of the unconscious mind. Even within this mental domain, without deliberate thinking, the person acquires concepts.

If the mind reaches a sufficient level of self-awareness and recognition of its own capacities and talents, the person becomes fully conscious of their position and influence over other minds—using the mise-en-scène or environment of the shaped world consciously and with necessary caution. At this point, the person seeks tools and methods to share their discoveries with others. Thus, within the existing shaped environment, they deliberately organize and construct a new shaped environment for communicating with other minds.

Moral vigilance, therefore, is defined as the human’s attentiveness to both their influence on others and their receptivity within an organized shaped environment.

The lecturer is speaking in Persian and discussing the Article 13 – Prescriptive Guidance

Mental agitation and identity crisis, arising from the lack of peace and harmony within the world of forms, drive the human being toward analytical experience and the extraction of meaning from the shaped world. The innate power of the mind makes one a thinking being. A passive form-based mind, which is bewildered and confused by formal phenomena, moves toward arrangement and order and begins to structure itself. This structured state is a manifestation of prescriptive or legislative guidance.

The output of this active mental structure is reflected in hypotheses, theories, problem formulations, approaches, and systematic experiments. These approaches gradually evolve into specific subject-based rules, which form the foundation of human life and existence.

The most significant obstacle to prescriptive guidance is the presence of inactive form-based minds. These minds, in contrast to active minds, rely on habit and repetitive routines. An active mind is a blessing, as it transforms quantitative, form-based living into qualitative, meaningful life — a process that yields positive growth. An inactive mind, however, is a curse, as yielding to it results in a meaningless existence and negative progression.

Positive progression is a movement toward self-knowledge, while negative progression leads to its denial, resulting in confusion and loss.

The lecturer is speaking in Persian and discussing the Article 12 – The Form-oriented Mind and the Crisis of Identity

The form-oriented mind, employing the mechanisms of pleasure-seeking and harm-avoidance—as residual patterns from affirmative and negative confirmations in the process of ontological guidance—engages with the world of forms and the presence of other minds. It exerts influence and is, in turn, influenced.

At every stage, a state of familiarity and habituation develops within the form-oriented mind. Yet, new experiences continually disrupt these familiar patterns and replace them with new ones. This repeated cycle of emotional attachment and habitual perception—without the achievement of inner stability or peace—gradually leads the form-oriented mind into a crisis of identity.

At this point, shaped by past experiences—namely an exclusive dependence on external forms without reaching lasting tranquility—the individual begins to question their identity. One asks: “What am I? Why do I fail to find peace and belonging in the world of forms?”

This inner agitation brings about a moment of inspiration within the shaped mind. In such a moment, the person begins to reject the supremacy of their form-based identity. The innate potential of the mind is then reoriented toward analytical inquiry, creative engagement, and the extraction of meaning. This quest for identity marks the first step on the path toward self-knowledge.

The lecturer is speaking in Persian and discussing the Article 11 – Ontological Guidance

The human mind, in its pursuit of inner resonance (wajd), directs its attention toward the shaped (form-based) space. According to revelation, the shaped exemplary body becomes associated with the human mind. The part of the mind that connects with the exemplary body becomes capable of interaction—both action and reaction—with the sensations received through this form. With each shaped and exemplary experience, the mind registers an impression and responds with either acceptance or rejection. Acceptance represents affirmative confirmation, while rejection denotes a form of denial. The repetition of such experiences gradually forms the conscious mind.

Ontological guidance refers to the totality of processes by which a conscious mind is formed; its result is the emergence of perception (wajd) within the individual. In this process, each affirmation or negation corresponds either to divine revelation or to the human being’s innate disposition.

At this stage, the individual perceives themselves within the shaped space, embodied in an exemplary form, and begins to develop self-awareness. For instance, they are drawn to flowers and repelled by thorns; they welcome light and fear darkness. These reactions reflect the person’s resonance in the shaped world—expressed as mental affirmation or rejection. Thus, the human mind consists of two dimensions: one abstract and unconscious, and the other shaped and conscious. However, shaped awareness itself creates a kind of veil or separation between these two realms.
