In October 2026, authorities in Jackson County, West Virginia, charged Erica Lynn Sayre and her husband, Clifford Gale Sayre, after three girls described years of alleged physical and emotional abuse inside their home in Evans. Investigators say the girls reported being beaten, strangled, deprived of food and water, humiliated, and threatened. Medical examinations and documented scars reportedly supported portions of their accounts.
