You Can Have A Good Life...And Still Hurt
33m | Jun 22, 2026You can have a good life and still hurt.
In this episode, I open up about something I've been carrying for a while: emotional exhaustion.
Over the past year, I've been doing what I always do—keeping busy, serving others, building projects, running RJ's Mission Foundation, producing this podcast, and moving forward. But after the first anniversary of losing my father to Parkinson's disease, I realized something important: sometimes the strongest people are carrying the heaviest burdens.
We talk about grief, burnout, leadership, discipline, faith, workaholism, the fear of slowing down, and why so many of us struggle to ask for help. I also share personal stories about my father, my brother, serving through the foundation, and what it feels like when life looks good on the outside, but you're still carrying weight on the inside.
This isn't an episode about giving up.
It's about learning that rest is not weakness, healing is not selfish, and sometimes the strongest thing you can do is acknowledge that you're tired.
If you've ever felt overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or like everyone depends on you while nobody checks on you, this conversation is for you.
Because you can have a good life...
...and still hurt.
