• Still Pouring No. 6 | Why I Don’t Do Politics | Faith and Good Courage

Still Pouring is an original podcast series from Christopher Tuttle, the Route 66 Chaplain and creator of Faith and Good Courage. These are stories from behind the counter. Not the weekly journal. Not the Thursday story. Just Christopher sitting down and talking honestly about faith, kindness, and real life.

The counter is open to everyone. Or it’s open to no one. There’s no in between.

Nobody gets asked their politics before they sit down at this counter. That’s not an accident. That’s not avoidance. That’s a decision made every single day. I’ve been a chaplain long enough to know that pain doesn’t vote. Hunger doesn’t have a party affiliation. And Matthew 25 didn’t ask me to check anyone’s voter registration before I showed up.

The people who are most exhausted right now aren’t exhausted because of one side or the other. They’re exhausted because they can’t find a single place that isn’t asking them to be exhausted. Every platform. Every feed. Every comment section is a battlefield. And they’re tired of suiting up. Roadside Notes is not a battlefield. Still Pouring is not a battlefield. The diner counter is not a battlefield. It’s just a place where the coffee is hot and the door swings both ways and nobody has to prove anything before they sit down.

That’s not apathy. That’s a choice. Made every single day.

I Don't Charge for Kindness | Faith and Good Courage

Still Pouring is an original podcast series from Christopher Tuttle, the Route 66 Chaplain and creator of Faith and Good Courage. These are stories from behind the counter. Not the weekly journal. Not the Thursday story. Just Christopher sitting down and talking honestly about faith, kindness, and real life.

My mother didn't have a methodology. She didn't have a framework or a system or a set of principles she'd developed over years of study. She had a kitchen table. She had coffee that was always on. And she had a way of making whoever walked through the door feel like they were exactly where they were supposed to be. No agenda. No follow up. No invoice. She just showed up. Every time. For everyone. That's where I learned it.

This episode is about the things that were never meant to have a price tag. Presence. Genuine human connection. The kind of conversation that changes the temperature of someone's day. Still Pouring is built on one simple foundation. You can't charge for borrowed grace. You just pass it on. My Rule 66 says it simply. Leave people better than you found them. No invoice attached.

Everything here is free. It's always going to be free. Tips appreciated. Never required. Just like the best diners on the Mother Road.

  • Still Pouring No. 4 | The Exhaustion Was the Signal | Faith and Good Courage

I thought I was just tired. That's what I told myself anyway. Turns out I was wrong. Tired wasn't the problem. It was the answer. I left a corporate salary and a broadcast radio career without a map. No grand plan. No safety net. Just a feeling that had been building for long enough that ignoring it had become its own kind of work.

This episode is about the exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix. The kind that settles in when you've been performing a version of yourself for long enough that you can't quite remember who you were before the performance started. It's about the recognition that staying had become more costly than going. And about the one thing Route 66 will teach you if you let it. You don't need the whole map. You just need to be willing to take the next honest turn.

If you've ever been tired in a way that a vacation won't touch, this one's for you.

  • Still Pouring No. 3 | Even Chaplains Get Tripped Up

Matthew 25 says go. Feed the hungry. Welcome the stranger. Visit the sick. Notice the overlooked. Matthew 6 says don't make it a show. Don't perform your kindness for an audience. For years Christopher stood in the middle of that tension without a good answer. Then a pastor friend handed him the key that unlocked everything. You're not bragging. You're giving testimony. There's a difference. When you brag you say look what I did. When you give testimony you say look what's possible. Look how simple this is. Look what you could do.

This episode is about a can of soup with a flip top cap. A plastic spoon from the deli counter. A bag and a napkin. That's the whole assignment. Matthew 25 with a flip top cap. No sermon required. No invoice attached.

  • Still Pouring No. 2 | When The Island Hugs You Back

When the Island Hugs You Back

Some places tolerate you. Some places welcome you. And some places, if you're paying attention and if something bigger than you decides it's time, reach out and pull you in like they've been waiting for you all along.

    Maui is like that.

The island doesn't perform for tourists. It doesn't care how many photos you take or how many resorts you book. It has its own spirit, its own heartbeat, its own way of deciding who belongs and who's just passing through. The Hawaiians understood this long before anyone flew in with a carry on and a bucket list.

Maui adopted me. I know how that sounds. I can't fully explain it and I stopped trying a long time ago.

  • Still Pouring No. 1 | Hey Substack, I Found You. And You Found Me Back.

This is where it started. A chaplain. A keyboard. And a room that finally felt full. Still Pouring is my side of the counter. The honest stuff. The things that don't quite fit the Thursday journal but need to come out anyway. This first episode is the introduction. Who I am. Why I write. Why Substack felt different from everything else I'd tried. And why I'm still here. Welcome to the counter. Coffee's hot. Pull up a stool. — Christopher
