This two-part episode begins with host Ben Wiggins interviewing recent TAMIU graduate Haziel Mota, later transitioning into an interview with both Haziel and her mother, Mayela. The first half of the episode dives into the story of Haziel’s background, her educational journey, and her challenges along the way. Haziel highlights different topics, such as being a first-generation college student, scholarships, and challenges she overcame that motivated her to continue her education. Haziel received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Education and expressed gratitude for the amazing support and guidance she received from TAMIU. In the second half of the episode, we also welcome Haziel’s mother, Mayela Mota, who joins us to share some valuable lessons as to how parents can support and empower their kids who receive an education away from home.
