Grown Ass Man Podcast #008: Every Show Has An Alias Season 4
1h 10m | Oct 7, 2026Greg and Patrick tackle college football chaos, Disney FOMO, sports cameos, WWE and wrestling fandom, TV nostalgia, and grown-ass adult wins.
The Grown Ass Man Podcast is back, and Greg DeMarco and Patrick O’Dowd go from college football coaches getting fired to Disney Christmas FOMO, television cameos, wrestling chaos, and the very grown-ass satisfaction of making the final payment on a car.
The episode starts in college football, where the guys look at how quickly life can change for a coach. Greg and Patrick get into the Colorado State situation, coaches losing responsibilities in the middle of games, and the reality that NIL has created an entirely different economic system around the sport. Somehow, Blue Chips and Playmakers now feel less like exaggerated fiction and more like documentaries that showed up a couple decades early.
Patrick then brings some serious Disney FOMO to the show as holiday overlays start appearing at the parks before most people have even put away their Halloween decorations. That conversation covers seasonal rides, Christmas events, rising prices, and the very different experiences offered by Disneyland and Disney World.
Things get even more random when Nebraska coach Matt Rhule turns up in Lanterns, prompting Greg and Patrick to discuss how valuable a television cameo can be for recruiting. From there it becomes a trip through memorable sports cameos in movies and television, including Seinfeld, Boy Meets World, The Waterboy, and Rocky III.
The second half brings wrestling back into the mix, with Greg running through WWE, Money in the Bank, developing factions, NXT talent, and why Grayson Waller has become one of the most entertaining stories to follow. AEW, TNA, NWA, counterprogramming, and the exhausting tendency of wrestling fans to turn virtually everything into a ratings war also find their way into the conversation.
Eventually wrestling gives way to Alias, Fringe, Heels, Reacher, and the realization that, apparently, every television show has an “Alias Season Four”—that point where something changes and you start wondering exactly what happened to the show you were watching.
The episode closes where the Grown Ass Man Podcast usually feels most at home: everyday adult life. Grocery delivery suddenly feels like one of civilization’s greatest achievements, working from home is not always as convenient as advertised, and paying off the family car delivers a kind of excitement nobody warns you about when you are younger.
This episode is about change—sports changing, entertainment changing, technology changing, and eventually realizing that the things capable of making your day change too. At some point, a wild Saturday night gets replaced by groceries appearing at your front door and realizing you no longer have a car payment.
And somehow, that feels like a win.
