Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid! | The Fly (1986) – Still Terrifying 40 Years Later?
1h 7m | Oct 23, 2026Be afraid. Be very afraid!
It's been 40 years since David Cronenberg unleashed The Fly (1986), and we're heading back into the teleportation pod to see if this horror classic still holds up!
This week on Movie Lovers Unite, I'm joined by Stew and Smith from It Doesn't Hold Up Podcast as we revisit one of the most unforgettable body horror films of the 1980s.
We break down Jeff Goldblum's incredible performance as Seth Brundle, Geena Davis as Veronica Quaife, the horrifying transformation into Brundlefly, and those disgusting practical effects that still make our stomachs turn.
But beyond all the gore, does The Fly still deliver an emotional story four decades later?
Join us for plenty of laughs, movie discussions, and our final ratings as we find out whether The Fly is still terrifying 40 years later!
Have you revisited The Fly recently? Let us know what you think!
