1 John | Knowing Where We Stand | 1 John 5 - Dan Gillis

This week, Pastor Dan closes out the book of 1 John by walking us through the entirety of chapter 5. As John brings his letter to a close, he reminds believers of the simplicity and sufficiency of life in Christ.

The early church had encountered a group claiming that the ordinary Christian life wasn’t enough—that true followers of Jesus needed to become more holy, more set apart, and somehow move beyond the simple faith they had received.

John brings them back to what is true: our confidence is not found in becoming something more , but in knowing and trusting Jesus. Through chapter 5, we’re reminded what it means to live with confidence, assurance, and faith in the Son of God.
