• Season 7 Episode 304: Dating & Life Choices For Men Over 30 Part 2

    Youtube Link: https://youtu.be/QlRXK3xBphU

Turning 30 doesn't magically make you a man—it just means you've had more time to make decisions. In this episode, we're talking about why men in their 30s and beyond have to stop blaming bad luck, their past, or other people and start making decisions that build the life they actually want. From finances and relationships to health and friendships, every choice compounds over time. The life you're living at 35 is often the result of the decisions you made at 25.

This isn't about having it all figured out—it's about realizing that every decision has a cost, and every decision moves you closer to or further away from the man you're trying to become.

  • Season 7 Episode 303: Dating & Life Choices For Men In Their 30’s Part 1 w/ Harvey

    Youtube Link: https://youtu.be/DEwTzZtbijQ

Welcome To Another Episode Of Thoughts Of An Average Joe. Your 30’s are supposed to be the years where you start getting serious about the life you want—but what happens when you get too comfortable?

In Part 1 of “Dating & Life Choices for Men in Their 30s,” Harvey & I have an honest conversation about relationships, career decisions, marriage, and the reality of getting older.

I open up about going back to school, my job history, and the decisions that have shaped where he is today, while Harvey challenges him to understand that succeeding in the corporate world isn't always just about working hard—you also have to learn how to play the corporate game.

The conversation also tackles the idea that “40 is the new 30.” Is that really true, or is it something we tell ourselves to avoid accepting that certain seasons of life are passing us by?

And when it comes to relationships, are men in their 30s actually in a better position to date? There are some major advantages—including greater maturity, more life experience, better financial awareness, and a clearer understanding of what you want. But there can also be serious disadvantages when men completely remove dating, commitment, and marriage from their plans.

This episode asks some uncomfortable questions:

Are you becoming comfortable, or are you becoming complacent?

Are you building the life you actually want—or just getting used to the life you have?

And if marriage and family are part of your goals, how long can you keep saying “I’ve got time”?

Part 1 is about taking an honest look at where you are in your 30s, the choices you're making today, and whether those choices are setting you up for the life you want at 40.

Real life. Real choices. No sugarcoating.

    Thoughts Of An Average Joe.

    Youtube Link: https://youtu.be/vvam904BHk0

Everybody has heard it before: "A real man would..." But who decides what a "real man" actually is?

In this episode, Joe is solo and we unpack one of the most common phrases used in dating and relationships. Is it a genuine standard, or is it sometimes used to pressure men into doing things that benefit someone else? We also ask the hard question: if women can define what a "real man" is, can men define what a "real woman" is without being criticized?

This isn't about attacking women—it's about having an honest conversation about expectations, accountability, and whether we're holding each other to fair standards.

  • Season 7 Episode 298: The Provider Double Standard Problem w/ Harvey

In this episode, Joe brings Harvey on and they dive into one of the biggest frustrations in modern relationships: double standards especially when it comes to providing? Why do men and women often expect things from each other that they wouldn't accept themselves? From dating and finances to gender roles and accountability, this episode examines how both sides can be guilty of wanting different rules when it benefits them.

The conversation isn't about picking sides—it's about exposing hypocrisy, challenging expectations, and asking whether people are willing to hold themselves to the same standards they hold others.

Main Question:"Are we asking for fairness, or are we asking for advantages?"

  • Season 7 Episode 296: They Aren’t Your Friends; They Just Aren’t Hungry Yet

In this episode of Thoughts of an Average Joe, we dive into a harsh reality that many people eventually encounter: not everyone around you is genuinely your friend. Some people stay close because you're useful, because you have something they need, or because being associated with you benefits them in some way. As long as the well is full, they're loyal, supportive, and present. But when the opportunities disappear, the resources run out, or life knocks you down, many of those same people vanish without a trace.

We explore how transactional relationships often disguise themselves as friendships, why betrayal usually comes from those closest to us, and how scarcity reveals people's true character. From friends who only call when they need something to people who quietly wait for their chance to benefit at your expense, this episode examines the difference between those who value you and those who value what you can do for them.

Most importantly, this conversation isn't about becoming bitter or learning to trust no one. It's about recognizing the difference between genuine loyalty and convenient companionship. Because when the well runs dry, you quickly discover who's there for the water—and who's there for you.

Question of the episode: If everything you provide disappeared tomorrow, who would still be standing beside you?

In this episode of Thoughts Of An Average Joe, the crew dives into one of the most common phrases in today’s dating culture: “Know your worth.” But what does that actually mean? We break down the fine line between healthy standards and pure entitlement, discussing how social media, ego, trauma, and unrealistic expectations have reshaped modern relationships. • Season 6 Episode 289: (Season 6 Finale)The Relationship Resume Part 4: Building A Healthy Relationship Resume w/ Tyler

Welcome back to another episode of "Thoughts Of An Average Joe." In the final episode of The Relationship Resume Series, the focus shifts from awareness to action. After unpacking healing, over-qualification, and the fear of being truly seen, this episode breaks down what actually belongs on a healthy relationship resume.

We explore why money, status, looks, and lifestyle may attract attention but don’t sustain connection — and why emotional maturity, accountability, consistency, and communication matter far more. This episode challenges listeners to turn healing into real-life skills by showing up differently, not just talking about growth.

At its core, Episode 4 is about choosing authenticity over approval and alignment over performance. A healthy relationship isn’t built on impressing someone — it’s built on who you are when no one’s watching, and how you show up when it matters most.

  • Season 6 Episode 288: The Relationship Resume Series Part 3: The Fear Of Being Seen: When Love Feels To Exposing

Welcome to another episode of "Thoughts Of An Average Joe." Today we dive into episode three of the Relationship Resume Series. In episode 3, we dive into one of the quietest but most powerful obstacles in modern dating: the fear of being truly seen. After exploring dating while healing and the pressure to be “over-qualified” in love, this episode focuses on what happens when the résumé drops—and the real person has to show up.

This conversation unpacks why vulnerability feels dangerous, especially for people who’ve been hurt, rejected, or misunderstood in past relationships. We discuss how emotional walls, humor, independence, and “I’m good on my own” mindsets often mask a deeper fear of exposure rather than strength.

The episode also explores how wanting love can conflict with the fear of being known—how people crave connection but pull away the moment someone gets close enough to see their flaws, insecurities, or unmet needs. Listeners are challenged to reflect on whether they’re protecting their peace or protecting their wounds.

Episode 3 encourages honest self-reflection, reminding us that love doesn’t require perfection—just presence. Being seen isn’t about having it all together; it’s about allowing someone to witness who you are in real time, unfinished and human.

From social media pressure to emotional résumés, many people feel the need to oversell themselves just to be considered worthy of love. But being “over-qualified” on paper doesn’t mean you’re emotionally ready for connection.

This episode explores how dating standards, past trauma, and fear of rejection push people to perform instead of be present. We talk about the difference between emotional credentials and emotional availability, why people chase partners they think they “should” want, and how trying to meet every requirement often leads to burnout, misalignment, and shallow connections.

At its core, Episode 2 challenges the idea that love should be earned through perfection. Real relationships aren’t built on resumes and checklists — they’re built on honesty, effort, and emotional readiness.

You’ll learn the difference between healthy dating during healing and using dating as a distraction, plus why self-awareness matters more than being completely “fixed.”
