Wise Scientists 10: Eva Seilitz

34m | Jun 4, 2026

Philosopher-physicist Ravi Ravindra notes that according to all the sages, there are many levels of reality subtler than the mind. So, any enterprise wholly driven by the mind—including science, philosophy, and theology—cannot connect with these subtler levels of reality. In order to relate with these subtle levels one needs to rely on direct perception, not on thought. Hence, the need to open up and enhance the quality of perception and being among scientists. Then they are more likely to attain knowledge which is closer to wisdom. A wise scientist is interested in truth - which is a subtle combination of knowledge and compassion.

In this Wise Scientists podcast series, introduced by David Lorimer, Ravi engages in dialogue with leading scientists about the need for more wisdom in society in general, and specifically among scientists due to its cultural power and influence as well as the speed of current technological developments, for instance in AI.

In this episode they talk with Dr Eva Seilitz. Eva Seilitz has worked as a spiritual social entrepreneur, initiating a variety of innovative projects in culture, living environments, and the prison world to enhance people's well-being from a holistic perspective. She is grounded in the context where she stands but always looking forward opening up new possibilities. She spent ten years within the Swedish correctional system, laying the foundation for introducing yoga to all prisons and detention centres in the country. The common thread throughout Eva's entire professional career has been to work towards liberating the deeper power within individuals, guided by her vision that we all have a higher purpose in life. Her vision is rooted in her 20-year collaboration with Dr. Jonas Salk and his perspective on humanity and evolution.
