Episode 5: Guilt The Self-Torturer

23m | Jul 29, 2026

After losing someone we love, grief is expected.

What we don’t talk about nearly enough is guilt.

The conversations we replay.

The things we wish we had said.

The things we wish we had done.

The impossible belief that somehow we could have changed the outcome.

In this episode, I explore guilt as the self-torturer, that part of the mind that keeps lifting the sword against itself long after the battle is over.

Through my experience of losing my mother, we examine grief, self-flagellation, the illusion of control, and the healing power of remembering love more than regret.

Perhaps guilt is not love.

Perhaps it is love that has forgotten its own kindness.
