When Being the Strong One Gets Heavy.

Season 1 | Episode 5
22m | Oct 20, 2026

What happens when everybody knows you as the strong one—but nobody realizes how tired you are?

In this episode of Real Life Clarity Podcast, Dorlita Blakely talks about the emotional weight of always being dependable, capable, responsible, and available for everyone else.

This conversation goes beneath the compliment of “You’re so strong” and explores what can happen when strength becomes an identity, when asking for help feels uncomfortable, and when being needed starts to feel dangerously close to being loved.

Dorlita also talks about hyper-independence, burnout, resentment, receiving support, learning to delegate, and why being capable does not mean you have unlimited capacity.

Because respectfully… Superwoman is tired, and she has not had a day off in years.

This episode is a reminder that faith does not require you to carry everything alone. Sometimes wisdom is not asking God for more strength to keep carrying the load. Sometimes wisdom is asking which parts of the load were never yours to carry in the first place.

Real Life Clarity Question:

What am I still carrying because everyone expects me to be strong—and what am I carrying because I have never let anyone know I need help?

You do not have to stop being strong.

You just have to stop believing strength means carrying everything alone.
