Episode 42 - Part 2: The "Harris Hustle" from two opposite sides of the country found each other and found their passion!
49m | Jun 21, 2021In this Episode we sit down with Ike and Kaycee Harris aka "The Harris Hustle." They come from two opposite coasts Kaycee from the West Coast (Oakland, CA) Michael Ike Harris from the East Coast (Brooklyn, NY). Their shared adversities, upbringing and Tinder led them to find each other in California. Once finding each other they found their true passion in helping others become successful. They are now building an empire in the financial industry.
In Part 2 we talk about how Mike was able to bond with Kaycee’s parents and left a strong impression on them, while he was trying he to figure out where he was going to live. His mother was advising him to enter the shelter system which left him in a dilemma since he was trying to start over. In the end he decided to stay with Kaycee & her family and focus on getting his Real Estate license and getting his life together so he could move forward.
We talk about how he ended up getting a job at Uber in the meantime so he could provide for himself but this also helped him get to know the Bay Area and the housing market and also save up money to eventually propose to Kaycee. They talk a por learning they could work together after a successful and smooth transaction in Real Estate. Mike recommends a book called “The Better Man Project” which helped him be able to work well with Kaycee. Mike tells a crazy story of how they ended up paying for their wedding after another adversity struck and put their wedding funding on jeopardy. One month after their wedding they ended up finding their passion when they were given a business opportunity on the financial industry.
Because of this business opportunity they were able to help Kaycee’s parents when adversity struck again and her father was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer. Unfortunately, her father did not have life insurance and her mother lost hers once she retired. So, when the inevitable funeral expenses hit her family They were able to write a check and pay for the funeral thanks to their new business. Kaycee did not have to open a GofundMe for her fathers funeral and thanks to their business they didn’t have to.
Mike talks about the Zoom era and how it helped him in business, due to the fact that all his market was on the east coast and all over the country. He knew very little people in California and was starting a new business and had to think outside of the box. We talk about their agency “The Harris Hustle Group.” Ike and Kaycee speak passionately about helping people and how important the financial education they provide is for people. They talk about how they now have a business where they can give others the same opportunity and how they are building a family business Nationwide. And they share their vision for the future of their firm. Isaac asks them 6 powerful questions.
