What kind of environment have you created for the presence of God? We often ask God to come closer. We pray for Him to move. We seek another encounter, another moment, another visitation. But what if God is asking a deeper question? I’m willing to come close, but have you built a life where I am welcome to stay? In this message, AT HOME, we explore Ephesians 2:19–22 and the biblical movement from visitation to habitation. God is not simply looking for a moment with His people, He is building a dwelling place. From Eden to the Tabernacle, from the Temple to Jesus, from Pentecost to the promise of Revelation, Scripture tells one consistent story: God wants to dwell with His people. But habits shape habitation. What we repeatedly give our attention to forms us. Everybody’s got a front. There’s the Instagram version. The TikTok version. The church version. The work version. The family version. But what happens when life doesn’t go your way? In Matthew <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=333s&v=ZTrhJ8lWXcw" rel="nofollow">5:33</a>-48, Jesus moves beneath the surface and exposes what our words, reactions, relationships, and responses reveal about our character. He confronts religious loopholes, manipulative speech, retaliation, conditional love, and the desire to look righteous without actually becoming righteous. Jesus essentially says: No cap. Your words reveal your integrity.Your response reveals your heart.Your love reveals your character.And your character reveals who you are becoming. Anger is rarely the real problem. It’s often the symptom of something much deeper. In this message from Matthew <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=321s&v=NYijH6WUrAY" rel="nofollow">5:21</a>-26, Jesus takes the sixth commandment beyond outward behavior and exposes the condition of the heart. Murder doesn’t begin with an act, it begins with unresolved anger, contempt, bitterness, and a refusal to forgive. We’ll explore the progression from hurt to anger, resentment, bitterness, contempt, and dehumanization, uncover the four layers beneath unhealthy anger, and discover why unresolved offenses don’t just damage relationships, they shape our identity and hinder our intimacy with God. Jesus also makes a startling statement: before offering your gift at the altar, go and be reconciled. Worship and relationships are deeply connected, because the authenticity of our worship is revealed by the health of our relationships. Finally, we’ll look to the cross, where Jesus absorbed the greatest injustice in history and responded with the words, “Father, forgive them.” Through His example and His grace, we learn that forgiveness is not pretending the pain never happened—it’s releasing judgment to God and refusing to let bitterness define our future. This is by design. John 4:23-24 NASB But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. We live in a world where some people are all about the Word of God: Scripture, doctrine, order, theology, clarity. Or what we can call the head.And some people are all about the Spirit of God: power, passion, presence, encounters, movement. Or what we can call the heart. Both are essential. Both are biblical. Both are life-giving. But here’s the challenge: how to get both at the same time and in the same space.<ul><li>Some feel fed by teaching but overwhelmed by Spirit.</li><li>Some are ignited by Spirit but confused by teaching.</li></ul> And that’s where we live. That’s our tension. That’s our calling.<ul><li>One person may say: “This is too spiritual.”</li><li>Another may say: “This is not spiritual enough.”</li></ul> Both are seeing truth, just from different lenses. Our role is to hold the balance without compromising either. So what does that mean practically?Our expression, the way we worship, teach, pray, and lead, is intentionally designed to:1. Honor Scripture: because truth matters. The Word is our foundation.2. Honor the Spirit: because God is alive and moving today. Presence matters.<ul><li>This is the tension God calls us to hold: it can feel uncomfortable, but it is necessary.</li><li>Jesus says the Father seeks “true worshipers” — fully alive, fully informed, fully surrendered.</li></ul> So if it sometimes feels too much or not enough, remember: that’s the bridge we’re building.That’s our expression. That’s the tension we’ve chosen because we’re pursuing the fullness of God in a way that honors both His Word and His Spirit. We want to reawaken the hunger.We want to ask “Did heaven move?” not “Was it good?” People will keep returning where God is not only explained but also experienced. We bring our plan and also our surrender.We build the Altar and wait for the Fire When we embrace it together, when we hold it in faith and unity, we become the church God intended, a place that disciples, empowers, and moves in both revelation and power. Jesus invites us to activity “Come and See” and “As you go, Make Disciples”.
