  • BITE OF A MANGO pre-screening interview Jlueche X Ron Dias

I had the opportunity to sit down with Ron Dias, the producer and one of the writers of “Bite of a Mango”. It's a Toronto film that has made it's premier in the American Black Film Festival featuring mostly Canadian Actors, Canadian production, and it captures the true authenticity of life in Toronto!

This is truly a full circle moment, maybe some of you remember but Ron was the first person who made me get on YouTube years ago!!! To sit down with him on this big day, to reminisce and talk about the journey to where we are now was so special. SO MANY gems in this one.

got to sit down with @inkbybea my long time childhood friend about their gender identity, challenges being part of the lgbtq community (religion, cultural criticism, etc) , binding, and more. So glad that they let me be open with my thoughts, questions, and mistakes. I have a LOT of respect for you Bea. Thank you for your education.

We need to normalize coinciding with one another, with respect. You don't have to agree, but you it says a lot about you if you can't be open to more than just your take on life.

Let's keep the dialogue going. Pass the convo on ❤️🗣

Understanding Suicide through a Loved one

    ...and sometimes, in a parked car conversation you just need to   l i s t e n

🗣 i’ve said in the past, “suicide is selfish”. Let me tell you... i’ll NEVER speak about it the same way. How we speak about mental health; suicide... is important and NEEDED. Why do we shy away from it? When people have other illnesses we never cease to speak on it. let’s break that stigma

  • Both Sides of Abuse || EP 021

The Parked Car Conversation SEASON FINALE

EP 021 ft. @dabwoymatchew discussing Both sides of Abuse. A unique discussion that is rarely spoken about for the masses. Abuse is never ok, not for women OR for men.

    .

    .

    some highlights to discuss:

    1. Abuse isn’t just physical- there are many forms

    2. Men being abused by women is extremely taboo in today’s society. If a man is abused, or is in an abusive relationship it’s taken for a joke; as if a man is weak.

    3. Caribbean/West Indian narrative on abuse  (i’m sure many other cultural backgrounds can relate)

    4. Putting your relationship issues on Social Media- you give people the access to speak upon your relationship without them KNOWING about your relationship

    5. Abusers are GREAT at manipulating

    6. People you love know what trigger(s) you best

    7. BOTH men and women are abusers. seek professional help if you have tendencies that you can’t control

    .

    .

Let’s keep the conversation open for both sides. Talk to the men and women in your life about this.

  • Boundaries || EP 020

this is a message for EVERYONE. you hear me? EVERY single one of us need to think about our boundaries; so that we can respect others and others can respect us. I personally have just recently sat down and thought about what each category meant for myself; and let me tell you... I need change some things, be more vocal about my needs and also to LISTEN and not disregard what the boundaries of others around me are. Growth isn’t easy; but it’s worth it.

have a listen as we dive into the following:

    1. emotional boundaries
    2. physical boundaries
    3. material boundaries
    4. time boundaries
    5. intellectual boundaries

➡️ share this episode with a friend, tag them, do whatever you can to do your part and let’s keep the conversation going!

  • Quitting your job in the Middle of a Global Pandemic || EP 019

i quit my job in the middle of the pandemic because of the following quotes:

    1. “Used To” can’t help you in the now.
    2. “Risk is Necessary” s/o to my leadership teacher from HIGHSCHOOL Mr. Gartside. I’ve been out of high school for 8 years and now more than ever I UNDERSTAND how deep this phrase goes.
    3. “Procrastination is the ignorance in thinking that God will give you more time”. For the folk that are procrastinators like me, stop playing with the time God gave you. Living out your dreams ‘tomorrow’ when tomorrow isn’t promised
    4. “I want to be used up when my time here is done” i am taking a chance on myself because i don’t want to ever look back and wish i had.
    5. “You get what you think about most, most of the time” i’ve been dreaming of the dream home I want. The dream lifestyle I what... and it wasn’t going to come the way I was living before. What about you?

You just have to start. That’s half the battle. Here I am at episode 19 and it’s only going to get better from here on out 🔋🙌🏽 thank you all for rocking with me and showing love & engaging. it means the world.. stay tuned 😏😘
