In this Episode of Mostly Unseen, Pastor Jeff Boucher and Mike Paterno continue their ongoing series studying the Book of Daniel. While discussing chapter 4, two very important questions are discussed relating to the events that unfolded: 1. Why do so many people fail to realize that God is the one who is in control? 2. What must it take for people to come to the realization that God not only exists, but is sovereign over all things?

Pastor Jeff Boucher and Mike Paterno discuss how 3 brave men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were able to stand their ground and stay true to their faith in God while in a foreign, hostile land by not following the orders of King Nebuchadnezzar and refusing to worship the King over their true God. In this episode we explain how this story can apply to Christians living in today’s culture and how important it is to stay true to our faith despite the reality that the world may be against us.

How do we find out about His plans and purposes? In this episode we’ll explore the minimums that we must understand and act on to experience God.

Experiencing God is Possible: All of us have read or heard about the stories in the Bible where God has shown up in an amazing way. There’s Noah, who God gave detailed instructions to to build an ark. Or, how about Moses meeting with God on Mt. Sinai and receiving the 10 commandments. Then there’s the apostle Paul on the road to Damascus when God suddenly blinded Him to stop him from persecuting the Church had Him join the Church instead. There are patterns in scripture that we can clearly identify where God shows and people experience Him in fantastic ways. That is still happening today. Give a listen to see the patterns that lead to an experience with God.

In this episode we reveal the open secret to answered prayer! There is a greatest prayer, the greatest that can be offered. It is the substratum of every true prayer. It is the undercurrent in the stream of all Spirit-breathed prayer. Jesus himself gives it to us and He Himself lived it for us.

Who is Jesus - The Patience and Power of a Great King When you come before a great King you are encouraged to pay him due respect. When you enter a great King's realm you are obliged to kneel before him as his vassal. In this installment we'll hear about such a great King through exploring the parable of the Landowner followed by the parable of the wedding banquet, which give us two beautiful pictures of our Great King. The first shows his enduring patience toward his disobedient subjects and the second, an encouragement to accept His invitation to join Him at his great wedding feast. Our King will claim what is rightfully His and He will reward loyalty to His crown.

Jesus was the ultimate teacher using everyday things from His surroundings to teach spiritual truths. Using parables was a favorite of His. A parable can be thought of as an earthly story with a heavenly or spiritual meaning. In this episode you'll hear how Jesus used the Parable of the Mustard Seed to predict a bright future for His discouraged disciples. This still encourages us today.

In this episode we look at Prayer as a war measure. The pretender prince has taken control of this world through deception. Although He was defeated in a battle of cosmic proportions by the rightful king, he has been allowed for a time to continue on the battlefield and he is still holding prisoners. Through our prayers we wage war against this prince of darkness and truly make a difference in setting captives free as we await the coming of the rightful king.

Imagining Jesus - Everyone has a picture of Jesus in their mind’s eye. And often those pictures are very different from one person to another. It is not uncommon for those mental images to shape the way you think about Jesus, and the way you respond to Him in your life. In my experience, most people have a variety of misconceptions of who Jesus was and is - from the way He looked, to the interactions He had with people. A thoughtful read of the Gospels will significantly change your mental images of Jesus and challenge you to rethink not only what He looked like and lived like, but also the very reason He came. This series will clarify, surprise, and most of all challenge your view of Jesus of Nazareth!Episode #4 – The Power of a Changed Life – God works powerfully through people who humbly come to Him, confess their faults and seek reconciliation. Armed with the knowledge that her sin is forgiven and God loves her, the woman in this story becomes a picture of the power of God working through broken, but reconciled people to bring grace and mercy to a whole town of people. At the same time, Jesus shows His disciples their prejudice and lack of concern for lost and struggling people. Their blindness made it impossible for God to work through them in this same town.

Episode #3 – Pride and Prejudice – What do you do when you run into a person whose words and actions challenge many of your underlying assumptions? In this segment, Jesus teaches His disciples a few things about God’s heart, while challenging their worldview and deep seated prejudices. You’ll also see Jesus’ method of reaching hard to reach people. He starts by grabbing a woman’s attention and then arouses a curiosity in her. Next He creates a desire in her to have what He’s offering. Jesus, very willing to give her what her heart desires first does something that many of us would think too forward – He confronts her sin. The gospel is not complete without dealing with sin. Once sin is repented from, access to God is immediate. She could not contain her newfound faith. Listen in to see what she did next!

Nicodemus, a high ranking religious leader has his theological world turned upside down in a single conversation. At one point into the conversation he pauses and considers the implications of what Jesus is saying and asks Jesus, “how can these things be”? To believe what Jesus was saying meant that his current understanding of the pathway to God was completely flawed. Jesus uses a powerful event from the Old Testament book of Numbers to challenge Nicodemus on his views. Jesus was very clear on how people can gain eternal life.

What was He like? Where did He come from? Was He kind and gentle, loving and forgiving or something else? Some people were drawn to Him immediately, especially the outcasts, while many who would consider themselves a member of respectable society kept their distance. He never met expectations, even among His closest followers. In this episode you will get a clearer picture of what Jesus looked like, His command of an audience, His fearless and challenging interactions. You will hear how He confounded the intelligent and gently taught the humble. No one walked away from Him unaffected.
