The Wheel Wasn't Connected to Anything
37m | Aug 6, 2026Mike Konrad on how he actually makes hard decisions:
"Inside my head, I make decisions based on:
what's the worst thing that can happen?
Can I live with that?"
His mentor walked him through it once, when he was sitting on the fence over a big decision.
"What's the worst that can happen? Will it kill you?
Will you physically die? ...Is it a 100% guarantee
your business is over? ...Well, we'll lose some money.
Can you make it back? ...I'll feel stupid, embarrassed.
Will you get over it? ...Eventually."
One question at a time, the fear ran out of places to hide.
"We get in our own head, we get in our own way often.
It's the parts of us that do without thinking so much
that allow us to take those steps forward —
to jump into the ocean, to really make the attempt."
