Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #64 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell” Today we are beginning a series on “The Effects of Stress on the Body and Brain.
Stress is defined as a feeling of emotional or physical tension. It can come from almost anywhere, including events or thoughts that make you feel frustrated, angry or nervous. In small amounts, it can be a positive thing that helps you avoid danger. But today, a lot of people have chronic stress that may be harming their health.
Stress can affect all your body’s systems: including musculoskeletal (tight muscles in the neck and shoulders, anyone?), respiratory (panic attacks and asthma attacks), cardiovascular, endocrine, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and the nervous system.
