Is Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft making game preservation too difficult?

VGC found on LinkedIn that someone was hired to Sony for their game preservation team. We don't know what the end result of that will be, but Anthony wonders has the idea of game preservation become too difficult? He also explains what he would do if he worked at one of those companies.
